Hi mommies...
I am currently pregnant and due in July. I have almost 5 year old twins that are sooo excited about the new baby. I was thinking about getting them small gifts for when they come to the hospital to see the baby once it is born. Does anyone have any ideas for small and meaningful gift ideas for them?

What can I do next?

We found a really cute tiger chair that we got for my oldest that was in my room waiting for him when he came to see us. He was so excited when he found out it was his and he got to take it home. Once home it stayed in our room. Since the baby had all his stuff in our room we wanted him to have something that was his own. Or get them a shirt or stuffed animal that says big brother/sister. I think its great you want to have something for them!!

Good luck and God Bless!

When my daughter was born (almost 4 years ago) we did not have anything for my son at the hospital (he was 2 years 9 months at the time), but I had planned a "big brother" party for the day she came home. My mom made cupcakes and put up some decorations while hubby and my son came to pick me and the baby up from the hospital. We had a small gift for him from my daughter and I had gotten them matching big brother/little sister t-shirts, which they wore that day. Hope this helps and congrats on your soon to be new addition.

Great idea. I think they may (even if they are excited now) be threatened when the new baby comes. Maybe not, but to be on the safe side, do your best to include them and help them to understand they are still important and especially now as 'protectors' for their new sibling. I would say gifts that 'empower them' in their new roles as big sisters (or brothers? you didn't say the genders of the twins) would be a great idea. Like t-shirts that say "I'm the big sister/brother" and maybe some kind of art materials so they can paint pictures for their new sibling - something that involves them.

Well I actually had my daughter pick out a present for the baby, so I did it backwards I guess! ;) I think it would be okay to have something for the girls too I suppose. I like the idea of having something at the hospital to keep them entertained and then they get to take it home, but at 5, I think they are going to be so excited to have a baby that that will be the most exciting!

When my 3rd was born, her big brothers (ages almost-2 & 3-1/2) painted her pictures. We framed them and hung them in her room for when she came home. She's now 3-1/2 and they're still hanging.

I would get them "Big brother or Sister" t-shirts, and a matching onesie for the baby saying "Little brother or sister."

Congrats : )
