I'm looking for gift ideas for a new big sister. No t-shirts since I don't know what others will be giving her and how many big sister shirts does one need?

What can I do next?

A baby doll that is like a newborn. They have several varieties that come with a bunch of baby items and it helps them have their baby and how to care for a baby(at least somewhat). They have big sister books. Oh at the Party store they have ribbons and pins that say Big Sister.

When my son was born I purchased a backpack for my daughter and filled it with things she could do at the hospital - coloring books, etch-a-sketch, and even some pretty sparkly shoes (found at target). I had her name embroidered on the backpack... very cute backpacks you can find at Bugs and Butterflies in Plainfield, iL. I also got a "Big Sister" necklace from there.

I went to Build a Bear and built her a bear from her new brother. She loved it.

I would say maybe a brand new doll and if possible a newborn doll and a book about Big Sisters. There might be some fun videos out too.

We got a bear and a silver frame that had "best big sister" on it. We put the first pic of the two of them in it. She still keeps it on her dresser and shows it off to everybody.

My daughter just got a baby doll, and also a book titled "I'm the big sister". She also got a t-shirt. I noticed my friends have been buying her something as well as the baby so she doesn't feel left out. I think that is sweet.

In my opinion books, puzzles, art supplies- anything that is somewhat independant that gives the mom a break to spend time with the new baby without the guilt.
Good Luck
