Hello!

So, last night, I was clutsy and I tripped over a cover and broke my big toe. Yes it hurt like hell and I had tears streaming down my face. My angelic kids were giving me hugs and kisses and kept telling me they love me.
So, now what? I can't fit a shoe on my foot. I broke this big toe before and have had surgery on it. I haven't gone to the doctor because I know there's really nothing they can do. I have two baseball games I have to go to this weekend so I guess i"ll be hobbling around. I've had my foot propped up at work all morning but... now what?
Any suggestions???
Thank you and I hope all of you have a nice weekend!!

What can I do next?

Yikes.. That hurts so bad!

Can you borrow some crutches?.. Just for the long walks from the parking lot to where ever you are needing to be.

Sandals, prop up, cold packs, glasses of wine..

Tape it to the toes next to it to stabilize it, and wear sandals. Not much else you can do, just try to stay off it as much as possible! The doc is going to tell you the saaaame thing, take it from someone who's broken more than her fair share of bones.

I would go to the doc anyway and have it xrayed. Since you've broken it before, something else might be wrong now that they would need to fix, to prevent it from becoming disfigured.

I wouldn't take the chance in not having it looked at, to be honest.

Take ibruprophen for the swelling.

So sorry this happened!

I had to wear my husbands sneaker for a few days. Ppl looked at me like I was crazy until they saw me limping and my husband would ask me how long I had to wear his shoe. Not much you can do but try to stay off it till the swelling goes down. Best of luck!

I had an open fracture and dislocated 3 toes last october. I wore a cast shoe for 6 weeks and there is no way my foot would have fit in a shoe. Even after I still had difficulty for a few months. I would suggest taping the toes if you can, and wearing a sturdy sandal that has velcro in front as well as the ankle so you can keep it wide. Not sure if you can buy a cast shoe, they gave me mine at the hospital. But a cast shoe would work cause they are big with just velcro holding them on, sort of like a sandal only uglier. Anyway, hope you feel better soon! Broken feet hurt!
