I live in Desoto county and the max you would have to pay here for a years supply of birth control pills is $100. Call and ask them. Also I don’t believe that there income counts against you. you just have to list them as a roommate. Even if you live there with them you still have no income so it should be free.

Low cost vasectomies in Florida: http://www.vasweb.com/vasectomy/florida_providers.htm My husband went to Dr Stein and said he was very nice and the vasectomy wasn't anywhere near as bad as he thought it would be.

I'm guessing you don't want to just stop having sex?
Condoms are probably your best bet.
Find your local chapter of Planned Parenthood and see if they can help you.

you get onto medicaid by your household...file for just you and your kids and boyfriend as a household.... one of the questions is if someone allows you to live in their home w/out paying rent, just answer that as yes... My boyfriend and i (im pregnant) are living with my aunt and uncle who make good money, but i still qualified because we are responsible for our own food, medical, etc. they took down only our income and bank information... you can even apply online.
P.S. they are even willing to pay for my birth control after i have this baby, and it would help with any medical needs your kids may have.

sounds like you can't afford to have sex!
We are very low income and use condoms..
If we are out of condoms....then no sex..
Until we get more money and can do something else.
The health dept. has alot of info on things like this.

You should be able to get an exam and birth control through Planned Parenthood - it might even be free. That will allow you to stay healthy (by having your pap smear and breast exam). Check on the internet or in the phone book to get the number of your local office. Good luck! Stay healthy - your children need their Mommy!

Please contanct Planned Parenthood. Your position is not uncommon and the reason Planned Parenthood exists. They are a great resource for someone in your shoes and will treat you with respect for trying to make good decisions for your family. I know from past experience that birth control costs are determined on a sliding scale related to income and even then, you may qualify for additional assistance. Good luck!

K., you should be able to go to your local health department. They will verify you by income and determine whether there will be a small fee or free for the birth control. Try calling. The appointment certainly will not hurt and if it is more than you can afford then tell them that and they will work with you because you are trying to smart and use planned parenting ;)

Hi K.,
I would suggest contacting your local Health Department. I don't have insurance either and the Health Department by me (Hernando County) charges on a sliding scale depending on income. Also, the birth control pills are included with the visit. They may also be able to help with you getting your tubes tied.
Good Luck!

You can check with Planned Parenthood, or the health department. An IUD might be an option.
Do you have Medicaid? I am not sure what they cover.
If you are married, have you considered your husband having a vasectomy? There is a Dr in the area that does the procedure for $500 or less. being you have 2 kids it may be free through the health dept.

I just read about this new method of bc. From what I read, it can be done in your dr's office, so you only pay for the office visit...even w/o insurance, that's a lot cheaper! It's called Essure: http://essure.com/Home/Understanding/WhatisEssure/tabid/5...

Search for a Planned Parenthood in your area. They are a great resource. They can do exams and help you get birth control or an IUD. I had a friend who got an IUD for free.

If you just had the second one, dont worry you will be too tired for a while to have sex anyway, hahahaha. If you cant afford birth control, condoms are the only alternative to the word NO. Sorry sweetie, that's just how it works.

There are lots of options. Like EVERYONE ELSE here has said, contact your local health department or planned parenthood, I almost guarantee they will have low or no cost birth control for you. Don't knock it till you've tried it. If you don't think you can afford birth control than you definitely can't afford a baby.
Planned Parenthood gives away lots of free condoms.

Planned Parenthood offers very affordable birth control and annual paps. I went there for years when I was uninsured. I think the pills were about $15 a month, which is much cheaper than an unplanned pregnancy. Good luck.

If you can get a prescription either from your Dr. (after an annual) or from the health dept - Walmart has a birth control pill on their $9 list. I don't have insurance either - and last year I was paying almost $70 a month for the pills. I had an "epiphany" one time while @ Walmart - so I asked the pharmacist if they had any b/c on their cheap drug list - and YES THEY DO. I think that there are a couple of different ones. I took the list with me to the Dr.'s office for my annual - and asked if we could switch. She was very happy to do it for me and said that I should have called or emailed during the year and she would have done it for me sooner! My Dr. has a 40% discount for cash paying customers - so the annual exam ends up costing me around $150 - I just have to save a little each month preparing for it - could be worse I guess. Good luck! OH - and my niece said that she joined some kind of drug club at Walgreens or CVS - I don't remember the details - but she paid something like $20 to join, and then a 3 month supply of b/c was going to cost her .....something like $30 - sorry I don't remember the exact details - probably their websites show some details.

Have you checked with local welfare or maybe state health insurance? If you live in wisconsin and income qualifies you for badger care, it covers a lot and it does cover birth control. Check into it, you may not think you qualify but the income range has increased and goes by the number in your family.

Hi K.,
There are free clinics everywhere that offer birth control - some even offer tubal litigation. Call the Health Department in your county and they should be able to direct you accordingly.
