I am looking for suggestions for a new clinic or Ob/Gyn. I was diagnosed with PCOS when trying to concieve several years ago. I eventually had a successful pregnancy w/ clomid and progesterone. I breast feed twins for a little over a year, and a month later started on birth control this April. I still have not gotten my period. I have not had a period now since June 2006 basically. (Got it then with the progesterone/clomid). I called my Dr a little over a month ago, he did not seem concerened. I think perhaps I need someone who is more of a specialist... or maybe it is no big deal. I live in the North Metro...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

As a start, I called my triaging nurse today. She thought my Dr would want to talk with me and told me I should expect a call on Monday. After that, I may seek one of the good Dr's mentioned.

I too was diagnosed with PCOS when I was trying to concieve. No clinic would help me until I went a year wit out my period, except the womens clinic in Coon Rapids. It's an allina clinic and it's across the streen from Mercy Hospital. My Dr was Dr Gorneau- I don't think he was a specialist in issues concieving..but he was good and I really liked him. We tried a therapy with metformin- as a step before clomid- and it worked for me. I know your' not necessrily looking to concieve again right now..but my main point is that he listened to me and discussed things with me.

I would try to get in with him. Tell him your concerns and that you wanted a second opinion. I'm sure he's willing to take a look and discuss with you why it is or isn't a big deal.

Hi A....Dr. Wust at Northern OBGYN in Coon Rapids is wonderful. I had some issues as well and he would call me from his home once a week to see how I was doing. He really cares about his patients!

I really love my office. Women's Health Consultants. They have an office downtown in the TCF tower. Kind of a pain as far as parking goes, but worth it. I honestly don't believe that my son would ever have been conceived or be alive if it wasn't for the Doctors in that office. www.whcmn.com
Good luck!

I also have PCOS. I did eventually get pregnant after use of injectible fertility drugs (although the month we got pregnant, I wasn't on the injectibles.) We have a 9 month old and are beginning the process of trying to get preg again since we know it will take awhile again and I am 30.

We see a wonderful doctor and clinic that specializes in Infertility. I see Dr. Baker at Obstectrics Gynecology and Infertility in Plymouth, MN at West Health. She is absolutely wonderful and VERY knowledgable as she had PCOS herself (she now has 3 children).

Hope this helps!

Hey, A.. I live in the north metro as well, but I go to the University of MN for my OB/GYN. I go to the Fairview University Women's Clinic partly because it's one of the top clinics in the nation for women's health. I love my doctor there, but all of the doctors are good and all of them take the time to listen to your concerns and talk to you. I've been going there through two high-risk pregnancies and have never had any problems or ill-feelings. If you're interested, the clinc's number is ###-###-####. Good luck!

Hi A....I go to Park Nicollet Clinic Brookdale in Brooklyn Center. I have had great care there and if they do not know the answers, they are not afraid to refer you to a specialist who can help. I see specifically Dr. Welch in that clinic, but all of them are great! I hope you find peace soon!
