If you are done with having children, then I would definitely ask your husband to get a vasectomy. Birth control is as much the man's responsibility as the woman's. My husband did and it wasn't that big of deal...even though he acted like it. He said he wouldn't have me do it...too much risk and much longer recovery! A year before I got pregant with our child and then after our child and before his VAS, I didn't use any BC...except no sex days 9 - 16 of my cycle. I was using and am still using a natural progestone cream to help balance my hormones and hopefully help with peri-menopause as it gets closer. I have been on BC pills before using natural progesteron cream (started 7 years ago). I can tell you that before using natural progesterone cream I didn't have a normal regular cycle unless I was on the pill. Once I started using the natural progesterone cream, I had a regular cycle until we got pregnant with our daughter.
After researching different BC pills, I decided it was best for ME to NOT be on them again. I did not like the possible side effects (long term and short term). It's my body, just as yours is yours, and your decision how to take care of it. A great website to do some research is www.johnleemd.com. Dr. John Lee was a pioneer in natural progesterone research. He also has some great books for the lay person to understand. You'll learn so much about your body. It's a good thing to be well informed. If you do choose to try a natural progesterone cream, be careful which on you chose...they are not all alike.

PS...Please know that God intended us as women to have cycles...it is NOT normal or healthy to purposely make your body skip a cycle, let alone several in a row! I pray that you will do your research before using something that will purposely make your body skip cycles.
