Birthday Activity for a 2 Year Old ?

My daughter is turning 2 in about 1 month. I am trying to think of a fun family activity for her special day (we don't really do birthday parties, so it would be me, little sister (will be 2 months at that time), the birthday girl, and her best friend and friend's mother) in Kitsap County or near by. She is really into animals so I would love for it to be animal oriented. We have done the Seattle aquarium and I have heard about the tacoma zoo, but I am a little worried about these options as the drive will be quite long and we would like to be home by 1 pm for nap time :) My toddler has never been abe to sleep in the car.

If no animal ideas, any toddler friendly activities would be great - I just really want this day to be about her as most of the people in her life have been pretty focused on her newborn sister lately.

Thanks for the imput ladies!!

you CAN do the zoo and take a double stroller or a regular stoller for the baby and a wagon that the girls would be able to sit in for them if they get tired and nap in the car after you leave. its not that big of a deal at all. You can also take her to a teeshirt shop before hand and get personalized teeshirts for the birthday girl and her best friend and maybe somewhere that she can paint an animal

What about a "princess party"? Get some tiaras and feather boas... Maybe even do manicures (piggy paint is an all natural nail polish for young kids), a tea party...

I don't really know the distance, but NorthWest Trek is GREAT!

KiDiMu on Bainbridge Island would be a great idea, keeping in mind it can be very busy. If she's a super active kid maybe The Zone's bouncy area (not sure about their hours) would work well, and Zero Gravity Athletics has a preschool gymnastic open-gym time on (I think) Monday and Wednesday mornings. Not sure if morning weekdays would work or you and her friend's mother, but it's something I can see many 2 year old little girls LOVING!

Good luck.

Hi Lucy,

I'm not sure of the distance for you, but there is a new Kids Discovery Museum on Bainbridge Island: http://www.kidimu.org/

Children's Museum in Seattle: http://thechildrensmuseum.org/
