Kondeitermeister on the south shore. I don't know that they have any other locations, but let me tell you....adorable and DELICIOUS! I got my baby shower cake there. YUM. I've also heard Montillio's. BUt I think they're in Brockton. Good luck.

Lydell's Bakery in Somerville is awesome. I've also used the bakery at Super Stop & Shop and they did a great job. You can look through a book of all different themes. For my son's 1st birthday it was a construction theme and they put little tractors and trucks on the cake. It was really cute.

depending on where you live, damichi's in lynn is great and so is cakes for all occasions out of danvers. if it is your son's first b-day johnnie's foodmaster gives a free cake. good luck!

For the past two years I have been getting my son's birthday cakes at BJ's. (For his first birthday I baked - huge mistake!) If you have a large amount of family and friends coming, the designs are nice & up to date, the cake is Huge, tastey, yet inexpensive enough that you don't mind when the kids lick off the frosting and save the cake for the garbage can.
