C.,

I like "Market of Choice" cakes. They are pretty small serves about 6 people, and they bake them in kind of cup cake paper, but they take the time to put profession flowers and a special birthday message. They are only $6.99 a piece, so you can get different flavors.

If you are wanting personalized cakes I know someone who makes personalized and specialized cakes. If you are just wanting something fun, she can even decorate a pre-bought cake from a bakery like Costco or other store. (Personally I like coscto cakes, I don't think you can get a better deal) If you'd like to call her and ask her any questions, her number is ###-###-####. She does it for fun, although I'm sure she charges for her supplies.
Happy birthday to your kids!

Hi C.,

Don't know the ages of your kids, or your budget but I can say Beaverton Bakery does nice cakes, Costco does big and tasty cakes but the creme de la creme is Evelyns Bakery in Beaverton! Yum_EE!

If you're getting cakes for the kids rather than adults, I would go to Fred Meyers. They have a ton of different patterns to choose from. Beaverton Bakery is delicious but I doubt kids recognize the quality. My son has had a Pooh themed party, and an Elmo, and both times I was able to get adorable cakes the next day from FM. Also, they have a few options for cake, icing, and filling.

We had checked out the local Safeway when we were getting our first cake and they didn't have nearly the selection. In fact, in their book they had taped "no longer available" over at lot of the options.

I too agree with Costco and Beaverton Bakery. Costco is more econcomical and pretty yummy. Beaverton Bakery- not so economical, but YUMMY!!!

My 1 year old son loved his ice cream birthday cake from Baskin Robbins. Dairy Queen also makes them. I was able to get frozen yogurt as well. Big crowd pleaser!

I get my cakes from thriftway. I love that they use real buttercream frosting. They are a little cheaper than beaverton bakery.
We had our wedding cake done there and buy one for our anniversary every year.

Safeway. Believe it or not, they do great work, the "cupcake" cakes are a hit with the kids and they are totally affordable. (under $20) I use the one in Troutdale, but I am sure all of them do it.
