Alot of pumpkin patches/mazes etc are opening next weekend....

Invite a few friends over, bob for apples, donuts on a string, make halloween decorations, glitter spiderwebs, candy apples...

You could throw together a quick "theme" party... Just coordinate the decorations... most party stores will have themed napkins and plates. Look up party games online, and alter them to fit your theme. (for example... If you go with a princess theme, you could pin the crown on the princess instead of the tail on the donkey...) OR if you can afford it, go to an entertainment restaurant (like Leo's Place or Chuck E Cheeses...) they usually have party packages, so as long as you supply cake and ice cream, everyone is happy. :) (Might be a good idea to enlist the help of some older family members to keep an eye on the kids...)

well sending out invitations for a 'party' with only 1 week notice, will not be real practical.

Perhaps, inviting 1-2 or so of her favorite best friends, and take them to a movie or a pedicure somewhere. Little girls like that.
Just painting their toes.... not the whole 'manicure' routine of doing their cuticles and what not. ONLY painting their toes and/or with a gem on it.
Ask the manicure place, if you can get a 'discount' on their normal pedicure rates, because this in only for painting the toenails/polish. Not the whole 'pedicure' treatment.
Then come home and have cake and open presents.

Or take her and her friend(s) to a paint your own pottery place. Girls like that too. My girl does, and she is 7.

Little girls, also like flowers. My girl does. I get her a flower bouquet for her special occasions. She loves it.

good luck,
Susan

I agree that trying to get invitations out is not practical. If she invited just a few friends, like her one or two besties, it would be best. I think the pumpkin patch is a cute idea. You could also just do something girly at home or even take them to a matinee and get popcorn and candy. I'm sure there's a good kids movie out right now. If you wanted to do friends and family all together since it might be easier, then just do a small gathering at your house with some snacks and cake.

Costco has giant sheet cakes for $17 and they taste super delicious!!!! I just had my son's first b-day today and EVERYONE commented on how good the cake was! It's seriously yummy!

Best wishes on your nuptiuals! You'll have a great party, just start organizing now...even if you didn't celebrate her party until the following weekend, you could get invites out Monday and itw ould probably be just fine!

Make it a "dress up" party. Do hair, nails, & borrow lots of fun clothes/accessories from all of your own friends. Girls LOVE dress up!

Be sure to have punch, & really cool party foods. & a cool cake. All of this is cheap & you could probably find a jewelry/hair accessory pack for the goody prize for each girl. (personally, I hate the whole goody bag thing!)

Parties for kids are FUN & can be cheap without anyone knowing! I truly believe that for the punch, snacks, & a cake.....you can spend <$20!

Host a dinner party. Let her invite about 5 of her friends, you will be the host, waitress, and cook, of course. Let her plan the menu...apetizers, salad, entree, and dessert, of drinks. Fix up the table like they do at an upscale restaurant, maybe candles?, and just let them enjoy the time together. Keep us posted on what you decide.
