Someone already said it but I buy those 88c lip glosses and fingernail polish from walmart. Bonbons. I've also have put fingernail stickers and stuff like that in them. They love it. I've done the beads before to where the girls make bracelets and stuff. I oldest daughter and her friends were still doing that stuff when they were 15.

Girl that age like makeup. Put flavored chapsticks, pony tail accessories. Things that you can buy in a pack so you can spread them out more.

I just did my niece's 10th birthday and I went to the Dollar Tree & bought them Boa's, a little purse, a notepad & penset & then at Wal-Mart got them light up Tiara's & small sets of Jewelry & we made them little Princess' for the night. I was able to get some good pictures of them & they all got to take a copy home of their "Royal Night Out." They thoroughly enjoyed it & have even asked her when they can come do it again. Good Luck!!!

You can find all kinds of fun themed stuff at partycheap.com and/or orientaltrading.com

Check out "Oriental Trading Company". They have all sorts of stuff. If you want, you can find them online... or you can go to the store. I believe it is in Farmers Branch.

You also might want to consider those .88 cent "BonBon" cosmetics at Wal-Mart. Those are always a big hit with my daughter (who is 10).

For my daughter's tenth birthday party, I put trays of beads and cord on the table. Everybody, even some parents got really engrossed in making beaded bracelets, necklaces, and even decorations for the car. They go to take home what they made. You can purchase trays with hundreds of different colored beads at WalMart.

I made a CD with all my daughter's favorite songs and put a cute picture on the front with a thank you for coming to my party! Everyone loved it and the cost and time was minimal!
Good Luck!

Hi S..
If you have a Serendipity Trading Company in your area, go there. They have so many accessories to choose from for very inexpensive prices. My Daughter gave each girl at her party a matching "pearl" necklace (99 cents ea.) in their "goody bags" at the end of her party. They loved their necklaces so much, they all wore them to school the next Monday. It's been almost a year (Jan.) and they all still wear their necklaces when they are around my Daughter. In their goody bags we added plastic rings, lip glosses, lotions, hair clips, along with candy. You can find great items at Walmart and Walgreens for very little and sometimes, at this time of year, you will find them already packaged in one large "gift box" with assorted lip glosses, balms, etc. in their Seasonal aisles.

Have fun!

What theme are you doing? For my son's birthday party, it was in August and a Bar-B-Q pool type party, we did beach balls with the kids names written on them. I really dislike goody bags, and one small somewhat useful items is a great alternative.

For my daughter's 8th bday we had a tye dye party. We made tye dye tshirts, and that was the party favor. All the kids had a BLAST! Make sure you do this outside or on a floor that is easy to clean. LOL!!!! Just my 2 cents!

We gave a small treat bag with $20 gift cards to Abercrombie and Fitch along with a good smelling small lotion from Bath and Body. Now....we only had 4 guests for a small overnight party at a very nice hotel with swimming, dinner out and then late night room service.

This was my daughter's 12th bday party last Dec.

Have fun.

This year we are planning a big preteen party with dj, food and lots of social activity. No gifts at this party unless you want to donate something for the animal shelter.

My daughter is having her 11th birthday party this weekend. What about a $5 gift card to Claire's, and a CD with the latest music? We like to download songs from WALMArt.com for 88 cents each and then burn a CD for each girl. I also bought matching t-shirts at THe Children's Place for $4 each for them to wear at the party. We are only having 5 girls, so I was able to spend a little more on the favors. Hope this helps a little...I'll try to think of more and let you know :)

In the following website you can find a lot of options for favors, unfortunately I could not put a link to all the ones I liked but go through the index and look under "Kid`s Party Favors & Gifts" or Girlfriends favors.

a pair of soft, fuzzy socks for each girl in pretty colors....could be "theme" socks like Christmas socks if birthday falls near holiday.
My daughter just turned 11. She has received several pair of chenille or other cozy socks and loves them...
If the girls are ready for more grown-up girly things: something else my daughter likes is a fingernail buffer. We got ours at CVS pharmacy for under $3.00. You could incorporate the buffing and polishing of nails into the party...no nail enamel involved, just polishing the natural nail.

A good idea is a bag you can tie it off with a balloon when done. Put some candy and a couple little things that 10 year old like. This has always been a success with my nieces and friends.
