My son will be going into kindergarten in August & also turning 5 2 weeks later. I know it's a few months away but I'm trying to think of birthday party ideas. He is extremely excited to start kindergarten and make new friends and I am so excited to have a birthday party for him since it will be his first party w/his little buddies from school. Any ideas on fun places to have a party that don't cost an arm and a leg??

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
I'm in Omaha and we are having my son's b-day party at premier gymnastics. It's $110 for the party. They do all the work. You just get to sit back and watch the kids have fun! You can find them online at Premier-gymnastics.com. Our party is coming up in 2 weeks, but we did have my older son's party there a year ago and it was great. If you want any other details about it, you can send me a message and I'd be happy to share.

My daughter just turned 1 and she had hers at a local park. All the kids had a blast there. This way everyone has fun and the kids get worn out. Most parks are free, at least around here they are, and if not they shouldn't cost very much. Chucky Cheese is very expensive and even bowling alleys are high too. That's about all I can think of honestly. I know some parents even go out of their way to get those blow up gym things where the kids bounce on them. It's a lot of fun from what I hear but I'm unsure of the cost.

Is there a city park that the party could be held at?
Maybe rent a jump house.
Play traditional party games.

Invite their parents to also come and stay so you all can meet each other (we used to also invite the teachers.)

Our daughter had a party at our local Bowling Ally for her 5th b-day. This was her 1st party with friends. The kids had so much fun. The site provided a real bowling pin for the b-day girl and all the guests were able to sing the Pin or write a personal message which was cute. My daughter still has the Pin on her dresser. There were a total of 8 kids at our party and it was just over $100 which was much more reasonable than most other places.
