Birthday Party Ideas for a 4 Year Old - Marienville,PA

What do you want to spend? If there isn't a spending concern, then you could have two different parties at two different kid places. We have a lot of those here, places like Chuck E. Cheese, Gymboree, Inflatable places, even McD's.
If it were me, and I'm broke, I'd do one party at my home and another at a park. The one at home would be my close friends and family (people I don't mind in my house) the one at the park for everyone else. I'd probably go a little more out for the party at my home. A nice cake, deli trays. The park one I'd just do hot dogs and chips.

I would just have the same theme for both (that was you can reuse items like decorations and such). If people are traveling more then 30mins to get to the party I would base it around lunch or dinner, it could something supper simple like subs, chips and salad with a dessert/cake. Could festival food if you have a circus theme (hot dogs, burgers, popcorn). This year my daughter wants a tink/fairy party.

Maybe have a game or two planned; simple games like water balloon toss, pinata, balloon pop (have 3-5 small balloons per person and see who can pop all their balloons first just by sitting on them). Depending on what the weather is like could have a water party with various water activities.

Defiantly put a start time and end time when inviting people, that way they do not hang out forever (unless you want them to). Some may think it is rude to put an end time but it is rude to over stay your welcome, so if you know people will linger put an end time :)

My daughter just had a "pink" party- where everything was Pink- and it was fun. We had all pink food, pink cupcakes, pink party favors, pink decorations... we actually based it around the book, "pinkalicious"
but you could just pick her favorite color and base the party around that. It was rather a cheap party actually. We sent Pink handmade invitations, and asked everyone to wear something pink.

With 2 parties, you could have another party with another color.

We've had a Fancy N. party too- That one was REALLY fun!There are a lot of ideas with that. If you don't know/like Fancy N.- you could loosely base it around the concept with a Tea Party.

Obviously, we are big fans of book based parties. My daughter is also very much a "girly girl".

I also recently attended a "candyland" party- that was awesome, but seemed like a lot of work...

Why not just have a gathering for the "father" party and make the other party the real one. If just her father is the problem, why does he need his own party? Let him decide what to do for her birthday, you shouldn't be stuck planning 2 parties becasue of him.

Are you looking for food ideas? I tend to buy things from Sam's club for parties but you can get it at the grocery store too- veggie platter, chips, pigs in a blanket, I'll make some sort of dip, they have those N.'s spiral sandwich things that are awesome.

For activity ideas? How far apart are the party dates? You could rent a bouncy house or an inflatable slide. My friend just did this and the kids had an awesome time. We had my daughters bday at the pool this year when she turned 4.

For my son's 4th, we had a sundae party. I bought plastic ice cream bowls online from the Kitchen Connection (I think Oriental Trading Co.) carries them too. The kids took them home as party favors. Had two kinds of ice cream and tons of toppings set out for the kids to go crazy. The parents helped too. It was a huge success and pretty inexpensive. Not to mention, you can use the leftovers for the second party rather than having to make a second cake. I also bought some root beer and served root beer floats to the adults.

We're trying to come-up with ideas for our soon-to-be 4 year old, too.

He's all over the place with what he wants to do, what he wants the theme to be, who he wants to attend, etc.

His party last year was rained-out, so we're trying to take that possibility into consideration this year, too. I will say, from attending many lately, the ones that appear to be easiest for lots of kids are those at Bounce places. The kids are exhausted, you don't have to bring much as they provide almost all the food, and the kids have fun.

If your hosting different people at the 2 seperate parties have the same theme. It will save money by not having to buy seperate "stuff"! Also consider having a party in the park, back yard, hall or something for ALL. We have 2 kids born in July and we will do 1 giant BBQ for them both. We will have over 50 people for sure and may be A LOT more! Make food once, clean up once and everyone is happy!!!

I would just have one party and just let her father take her out for 2-3 hours whereever he wants to. If you don't feel comfortable sending her alone then maybe you can go too.

I called entertainers ( Elmo, tattos and balloon twisitng) for my daughters birthday party last week and the kids had an absolute blast specially dancing and taking pictures with Elmo. If you need more information let me know.
