Boo-boo on Toddler's Face

I have four children and my oldest is now 14 and she was a tiger when it came to falling and stuff. My mother in law at the time would ALWAYS would tell me to put neosporian on ANY cut and sure enought she never really scared. So my thought to you would to put neosporin on it it is clear and no one will even know it is there. If you need anything just feel free to email me anytime. my youngest is 11 months old today! i have two boys and two girls.

I agree, try the Neosporin or antibiotic ointment first, if it is still bleeding some. Once it "dries up", Vitamin E oil is really good for helping skin heal, too. Kids are growing so fast that she should be regenerating new skin cells like crazy. Plus, those kind of things shrink as the child grows so it should become pretty unnoticeable (IMO).

Fortunately a lot of boo boos don't leave marks as well. My son is now 12 and had lots of scratches, etc as a young child. Recently, he cut his face bad on a chain link fence and we used Mederma for kids on his lacerations (3 on his face). They weren't very deep, by rather long. They are fading very nicely and I don't think he will have any problems with them. The face does bleed a lot, as it is. The Mederma can be bought over the counter. Hope this helps.

Once the bleeding stops, you can put neosporin on it until the scab goes away. You can use Mederma for kids on it rubbing it in well. I worked in the wound care department at a hospital not far from here and they recommended that when you have a scar, to massage it daily and as often as you can to break up the scar. Importantly to rub it across the scar, not along the length of it as much, but across it so it becomes softer and the circulation increases in it. Mederma is said to help reduce the scarring, and that mixed with massage can only do good things.
Good luck. I totally understand the worry. My son split his nose from his nostril to the tip of his nose and instead of having stitches that cause more scars, we butterflied it shut and the scar is so unnoticeable that you have to be looking for it to even see the fine fine line.
He still rubs it just for good measure.

Put enosporin on it while it's fresh. That will help a lot. After it heals if ti looks like it is scarring put Mederma for kids on it. Kids skin is still growing though, so chances are it will be less noticable as she grows. By the way, it totally doesn't sound shallow. I thought the same thing about my son when he fell on the playground. And if it hadn't healed before our family christmas pictures I was going to put concealer on it.
