My 3 month old had a "biting" latch so I have primarily been pumping.
We are getting ready to go on vacation and he freaks out when I try to
put him to the breast now. Any suggestions to get him back on the boob?

I agree with the other mom, go a LLL meeting. You'd be surprised how much
it helps to be around a whole group of breastfeeding moms. You get a wide
range of advice and chances are somebody there has experienced what you
have.
That's great that you want to continue trying to breastfeed despite your little "chomper"! :) A good lactation consultant or Le Leche League member should be able to help you out. Contact Le Leche League for info on meetings, members, or lactation consultants near you.
If you are in the castleton area or willing to drive my mommy friends and I go to a support group for breastfeeding moms that we love! It is held at community north EVERY wednesday night 5-630 and is very relaxed and layed back atmosphere. THere are all types of moms and thier children there. LLL is great but personally I just need a different type atmosphere. If you need any other info or want to come just show up or message me and I would be happy to meet you in the lobby!
BTW the meeting is ran by lataction consultant and is completely free no matter where you delivered!
I nursed both of my boys and did not have this problem...well they didn't bite until later when I went ahead and weined them...but I was thinking about nipple covers...Isn't there some kind of rubber or plastic covers that you can use for sore nipples that you can nurse with? Maybe if you tried that you could fool him into thinking it was a bottle nipple. The lactation consultant could probably help you too. If you are not ambitious enough to get out with the little one you could probably just call the consultant at your hospital. I had a hole in my nipple with my second son and the lactation consultant at the hospital returned my call and spent a half an hour on the phone with me. Her advice helped a ton. Good Luck
you prob already to this, but putting some of your breast milk on that area so he can smell it ?
It may take some time. Offer him your breast at EVERY feeding. Offer - but don't push it. Also, have someone else give him a bottle (not you) so that he doesn't associate you with bottles, only with breastfeeding. If he bites again you can firmly say 'no biting", unlatch him, and try again. Also, try offering him the breast when he's sleepy (like early in the morning). Consider getting your let-down (with a pump or manually) and THEN offering, too - since he has probably gotten lazy and doesn't remember that he has to work to get milk from your breast - he may be impatient if he doesn't see it right away. Good luck!!
