Juice and milk in bottles at this age are no good for their teeth. Especially if they are taking naps and bed time with them. You need to be strong and just toss all the bottles and offer only sippy cups. You'll hear a few days of crying and unhappiness but it will be over quickly and you'll both be better for the experience. My son didn't like hard plastic spouts on sippy cups at first so I got the trainers from gerber. I can't find the ones I used but they were like these.

After about a month with these, I was able to get the playtex ones with the hard spout because he had gotten the hang of sippy cups.

Good luck!

She really does need to get on a sippy cup and eat more table food. I would just take the bottle away all at once. Just give her a sippy and if she wants to drink she will have to do it that way. Also if she just likes to fill up on milk and juice instead of food you need to feed her first without anything to drink. My daughter was the same way she would drink a whole sippy of milk or juice and then not be hungry to eat any food. So first I stopped buying juice she got upset when all the juice was gone but would just open the fridge and say "look it's all gone" "would you like a snack or water instead" after a few days she was fine with it. Same with meal times she cried the first time I didn't give her a sippy right a way but after she ate some of her food then she could have her milk. It really only took a couple of days to get her to change her habit.

I second the first poster. Just take it away. The screaming will be a pain for a day or so, but then she'll get over it. I cut the bottle off at 12 months.
Just remember, she's not going to starve.
I rarely give juice to my kids. Alot of the time I just don't keep it in the house. Then there is no fight.

Just go cold turkey!

And the doctors say you should NEVER give juice in a bottle.....Rots their teeth. AND that DID happen to my husbands nephew! He actually had to have his 2 front teeth pulled and fake ones put in when he was two years old because they were rotting! His mom gave him juice in the bottle often.

And if you don't put milk in her bottle, she won't have any choice! Make sure that you are giving her a cup with the spill proof piece REMOVED so she doesn't have to work too hard to get a drink. At least at meal times. If you let her run around with a sippy, put the piece back in......

Only offer the bottle, or preferably a sippy cup, at meal times. Don't allow her to carry it all day long. At 16 months she should get plenty of fluids if you offer it at meals and snacks. If she wants something between meals and snacks only offer water. It is ok if she doesn't want it. She will eventually accept it or go on with her day. My twins are two and we give them 6 ozs of milk with each meal and 3 ozs of juice diluted with 3 ozs of water with snacks. Diluting the juice helps them get in the water that they do not want to drink and limits the sugar they get from juice. They also only get no sugar added juice.
