Bottles - Washington,MO

My daughter had twins and waited maybe a bit too long to introduce the bottle but one took Avent and one took Nuk. Could never get them to take the same one.

NUK!!!!! Lol, they're shaped like "mother's breast"! I used them with my son...couldn't tell the difference! They're wonderful!

J., my son also took the soothie pacifier and he refused the soothie bottles. I was quite confused but the breastflow ones ended up working the best for us.

im going to try the new breastflow bottles with this one but my daughter never had any problems goin to any bottle but i liked the playtex with the drop ins with the big nipples

If your baby takes the soothie paci then I don't think you are going to have a problem with any type of nipple. My son takes the mam paci and at first would drink from a regular nipple. But I didn't give him a bottle for 5 weeks and when I tried again he wouldn't take it. So I went and bought the Play-tex one that is like the mothers breast and he took it. Just make sure you introduce the bottle at 3 to 5 weeks old. Then one every week after that.

I don't use any special bottle... just the plain old-school ones with regular nipples. My breast fed baby never had any problems with it... I started her on it while we were in the hospital, (health issues on both ends prevented me from breast feeding right away...) I pumped exclusively for the first month and a half, then re-introduced the breast. Now she nurses most of the time, but gets the bottle when I am at work.

I suggest you go cheap first, you may get lucky and not have to spend as much. Also, buy single bottles, don't stock up on anything until you are sure your baby will like it.
My son would take any kind of bottle, but his favorites were the cheap $1 bottles from Wal-mart. Made it very easy to replace them if we lost one or accidently left a half full one in the car or diaper bag (gross!). My daughter, on the other hand, will only take the Playtex Drop-ins with the brown latex nipple. She will flat out refuse any other bottle, even the expensive ones that were supposed to be "just like the real thing," she'd just scream her little head off. I like the Drop-ins, because they are super easy to clean, just wash the nipple and rinse off the outside, and you're done. Also, the Lanisoh storage bags fit inside it so we only use the liners at daycare (I send her milk in cheap storage bottles, much cheaper than buying another box of bags every two weeks).

My son loved it. And he was breastfed.
Also the bottle accumulates NO air bubbles in it, as the baby drinks.
It is commonly used in Europe, but it not found in stores per say, here. I have never found it in a store in my city, but Amazon has it.
It also comes in 3-packs... and is cute!

I used the Avent with my first daughter - mostly just because that was the brand of pump I liked, so the bottles fit with the pump. She also used the soothie paci and they are shaped similarly. She would also take the NUK bottles on occasion when we didn't have any Avent ones clean.

My second daughter is breastfed 95% of the time, and so we are using the NUK exclusively. It's supposed to support breastfeeding because it forces them to hold their tongue the same way they would when nursing. If your baby is still pretty young, then you might want to try these to help establish the breastfeeding.

I agree to start now, though - as long as you're not having any breastfeeding issues. It will be harder to switch back and forth later.

The playtex air vent bottles (WIDE nipple) have been wonderful to Abby and I, she is almost 8 months old, and she has never had anything different, took to it right away, loved it, never really spit up with it. She has never had an ear infection, or colic, and they are really sturdy bottles!! one of ours feel off our balcony and landed on cement and rocks and didn't break! lol (odd i know!) but it's a fun fact right?
In all honesty you will have to try different bottles, and decide what works best for YOU, and your little one! good luck!

J., I don't know how old your little one is, but if he/she is over 2 months old you need to introduce the bottle soon.

I am a daycare provider and a least 75% of my moms pumped and brought me breast milk. The bottles we've had the best luck with are Avent and Playtex Nursers.
