Hello moms.

We have 2 girls and are expecting a boy in November. My husband and I can not come up with any boy names we agree on. Any suggestions would be helpful :) Thanks a bunch.

What can I do next?

my husband is half Irish so we had Irish names picked out but they are kind of common names which does not seem to be the trend these days.
Colin Patrick
Connor Patrick
(my husband HAD to have Patrick in the name...an Irish thing I guess)

My daughter's name is Rylee but you can spell it different to make it a boys name... like Reily.
I was always told that boy names should be strong and girl names could be unique

My sons name is Chase Landon, and we had a girl now, but if it would have been a boy we liked the name Easton. I also like the name Jamison, or Jace. we like names are not quite as common. Boys names seem so much harder to come up with. Good luck!

I tend to like more classic names - but that might be in part due to my role as a teacher. I have seen some *weird* names and I have seen the teasing that goes along with that. Then again, my daughter has a more trendy name. Though still 2000 years old! :)

My favorite boys names are:
Ivan
Arthur
Simon
Henry
Harry
George
Walter
Vincent
Brian
Ben (I like Ben by itself, I also like Benjamin and Bennett)
Charlie

My daughter's name, had she been a boy, would have been Owen Augustus. Now, however, I see a lot of Owens. If I was to have a boy now, I would name him Benjamin Arthur.

Congratulations on your newest family member! :)

I think the name Flynn is pretty cool. You should provide your daughters names so we can think of something that sort of matches them.
I used biblical names for my two sons, there's lots of them in there and they are good, strong, manly names. Always remember that he isnt gonna be a baby forever, sort of picture him as a man and dont pick a silly name.

I think a short strong masculine name is nice. We couldn't decide on names til the bitter end.

Congrats! I'm jealous! I just love that newborn phase! Enjoy!

Our tradition (religious) is to name after a loved one who has passed on. I bought a huge, thorough baby name book, with great explanations, and borrowed a few more. I then wrote down the names of the people after whom we might want to name our son--my husband's and my grandparents. (We did the same for my daughter...but we had less to name them after then, as our grandmothers passed away between the time our daughter was born and the time our son was born.) Then I looked up their names (in both English and Hebrew) and then I cross referenced with other names with the same meaning, etc. It was not a simple process, but a fulfilling one.

In the end, we STILL could not agree...we ended up with a strong first name that has nothing to do with any of our grandparents, and then his other names (middle and Hebrew) are directly named for 3 of our grandparents!

Not sure if this helped, but thought it might give you an idea of another approach!
