Well, my boys are named Elijah and Sebastian...love 'em! Also love Issac and Benjamin. I was expecting a little boy but have since been told it's a girl so I know exactly how you feel!!

Have you looked in baby-name books/ websites? Checked out family trees? Had the "No way! I knew an Ian in school and HATED him... but I LIKE Ian" round and rounds with your partner yet?
Boys are great! Especially yours. You'll love him! This reminds me of a friend of my daughter's who, when expecting her first, was told it would be a girl. Everybody, including the doctor, was so sure! Guess what happened? But they had a girl the next time. (And they had a wardrobe ready for her, too.)
Now is the time to start paying attention to boys' names. Just focus on what people say around you, and see how you respond emotionally to any name. Have fun playing around with name combinations. Also think: do you or don't you want to name your son after somebody special - a relative or a very close friend? Look online for lists of currently popular names; then look for lists of names that were popular fifty years ago. What goes around comes around, and what's been "too old-fashioned" will be considered wonderful in just a little while. My sons are Matthew David (named after my husband's grandfather and my dad) and Daniel William (named after my uncle and my husband's dad). Those names aren't specifically Celtic but are used in that part of the world.
Remember that your son will bring character to his name, not the other way around. If you hate the name Bill because your cousin Bill is a jerk, remember that your son won't turn out like his cousin just because they have a name in common. If you can free yourself from as much emotional baggage as possible, you can have more fun!
If you haven't already, check out the site Baby Names of Ireland. It gives the story behind the names, if available. My kids are Conor, Cailin, Rory, and Emma Kathleen. I definitely understand leaning toward Gaelic and/or Celtic names. Congratulations and best wishes!

I think it's better to be intrigued by a name you find in a weird way. Pick up a sports illustrated mag, it's littered with boys names. That's how I got landon's name. I read an article way way before the world cup Bout Landon donnovan. I just liked the name. And hubby did too. Also look to the male family members in your life. Maybe your maiden or mom's maiden name can swing for a first name ( Parker, Duncan, etc)
On a side note, you'll love having a boy!! I have two. Owen Brian and Landon Thomas. Brian and Thomas are my hubbys first and mid name. Good luck!!
My older son's name is Michael Addison, but he goes by Addison. We have more people ask if that's an old family name..and we tell them yes, for about the past 23 years. Don't think it's Irish/Celtic/Gaelic but it is an unusual older type name.
Congratulations on your sweet expectation. We now have a beautiful 6 month grandson named Eli James. Not Elijah, some people have asked, but Eli. I love that name.
My friend's husband is 100% Irish. She has 4 boys (desperately wanted the 4th to be a girl, but it is what it is & every baby is a blessing!). Her son's names are Declan, Finton, Liam & Killian.
I like Ian, Dylan, Collin, Evan, Blake, Donovan, Caleb, Cullen, Kellen, Landon, Hayden, Leland, Christian, drew, Seth, Zachary, Oliver.
What kind of names do you like? I like names that are classic but not common. I also do not like names in the top 10 but there are some nice ones there. I really like the names Wyatt, Henry, Grant, James, William, Richard, Kyle, Julian, and Wesley. I really don't care for any name that ends with -Den.
My husband and I love Anglo-Saxon and medieval history and literature, so we found names by picking up older stories like Irish fairy tales, the Mabinogian (we actually picked our potential girl name from it after joking about how that was the one place we would never find a name), or other classical stories like Arthur legends. My boys have Irish/Welsh names, so we want something that fits with them whether our next is a boy or girl. I agree that a baby name website can let you find interesting names and you can search by where the name is from, the gender, and even by not having it end in the same letter your last name begins with. My boys are Devin and Gareth and I love their names--we are planning on Brendan if our next is a boy and Branwen if our next is a girl. I like that each of our kids has their name because of someone or a character in a story and that will be true for our third as well. Just have fun playing with names, even if they sound crazy. It is not permanent until you write it on the birth certificate. :)
Sean means god's precious gift
Dillon means faithful, loyal

Some aren't irish I just liked em :P
We also looked for Irish/Celtic/Gaelic too. We are Stuart and O'N. so we wanted to stick with the theme. We knew we were having twins, but one hid and we didn't know what she was until she was born, so we made sure to have boy and girl names ready. (our two girls are Brennan E.-Irish and Victoria Rose-French Celt)
We liked Brennan for a boy or a girl as it is traditionally male. There is a Celtic song called The Briar and The Rose that I love. It mentions "down in Brennans Glen" so she is really named after the song.
I also loved Gaelen, but worried he would be called gay.
Collen, Gavin, Braylen were all choices we liked.
Good luck and let us know what you decide- I love interesting names!

Ok, I have don`t have that many, but the are my favorites:
Luke, Michell(my personal favorite)Zach Sam(perfect for the nickname sammie)Evan and colin.
Good luck with your little one!
Very hard to help with no last name, as that is sooo important in a name. For instance, Connor Vernon is too much R sound. Trey Vernon is very nice.
I like irish names very much. Ewan, Liam, Trey, Andrew, Charles.
Liam Andrew is beautiful, and is nice reversed. Good luck. 3rd boy pluses-
Having one girl to clothe and do a wedding for is all you need. Can share clothes and toys, much easier emotionally than a girl. I had 2 boys and a girl.
My grandnephew is named Torin. It is of Gaelic origin and means chief.

you should tell us your current children's names so we can have something that you like to go by. I am not sure of celtic names but those are a few I like. You should google it online and I bet you will find a lot of names to choose from. Congrats! What a blessing.
How about Nolan Ander? My husband's name is Nolan and we named our son Nolan with Ander as a middle...(hubby picked out middle name from the band Oleander(leave it to a man to find a great name from a band!). We love it and so does our son who prefers to be called Ander over Nolan....it is a very strong name for a very sweet boy to grow into. Good luck with your baby! Congrats!:)
