Nuby has a sippy cup and the spout is like a bottle. This is the only one my son will take plus it has the handles on it too.
My lillte grandson who i raise is going to be 3 in april. Yes i know the is bad. He still sucks a bottle. I have taken him off about 5 times and for some reason or another he got sick and would not eat and i put him back on the bottle. Now im paying the price. Can some one please tell me the easiest way to get him off without this making him sick and me crazy.he is very small and under weight and i really cant have him loosing anymore. Can some one please please help me i can not keep getting up 4 and five times a night for a bottle. Im old.
Well last night was the first night without the bottle. But dont think he did not limit test because he did.the first time he wanted something to dring in the middle of the night i got up and got it for him by the second time we both got up and on the third time i made him go it alone needless to say that was the last trip for the night. Thanks for all the great answers they will all come in handy im sure

The way I broke both of my children from bottles and pacifiers was fairly easy. I began cutting just the tiniest part of the nipple off. It bugged them and they would fuss about it. The next day I would cut another eighth of an inch off of the nipple. Every day I would cut more and more until finally they didn't have enough to hold onto in their mouth. My daughter was so fed up with the bottle that she took it to the garbage can and threw it in the trash herself! She said the bottle was "bad" and told me to tell it "bye bye". My son wasn't quite that easy, but it only took a few extra days to get him off as well. Good luck!
We had to deal with a pacifier issue. We told my daughter that the pacifier fairy comes and takes the pacifiers for new babies to have. Considering the age, I'd try a strange reasoning. Maybe a bottle bye-bye party.
It sounds like you may be taken advantage of at that age. My 4 year old would to. If you are concerned about the weight, what does the doctor say?
Also, you may even start a goal for him. If he stays in bed and sleeps the whole night then he'll get *something* the next day.
You definitely have the age on your size and some knowledge. Use that to help you and not hurt you. Stay strong!
First off throw the bottles away and don't replace them!
Take them away cold turkey. Since he's old enough you can tell him that it's time for big boy cups since he's so big (even better if you can find an infant to "give" the bottles to!)
does he drink from a cup at all? is he not eating, that's why he's still getting 4-5 bottles a night? do you just put milk in it? first i would say if he's not taking a cup at all then you need to start, start off giving it to him during the day, then once he is used to it during the day, take away the bottle completely. (if he can drink out of a cup okay then he might need some "tough love" especially by this age. you might just have to be strong & throw away all the bottles, then if he is thirsty he will have to drink from a cup.) there are many kinds of cups now so you could try a few & see what he takes to best. if you are worried about him not getting enough nutrients then maybe you should give him pediasure (or the walmart equivalent) that way you wont have to worry about him not getting enough. is he behind in other areas too? you know your child best, & some kids have different needs, but if it is just that you havent had the strength to cut him off from a bottle yet, then you should probably muster some up & do it before it gets any worse.
good luck!
Well for starters you seem like an amazing grandma!!! Well this may not be something you a willing to do but honestly i think it is the only thing that is going to work!! You are just going to have to get rid of all of the bottles in your house! Crazy huh?!! Dint worry about him losing weight one thing i learned with my two kids is when they get hungry they will eat!! I had a hard time getting my son off the bottle and my pedi said throw them all away and all i could think is your are crazy woman!! Well i went home and for that one day i thought i would pul my hair out but by the next he was fine he would ask about it but i just told him gone gone and gave him a snack and a sippy cup and he was fine with it! Good luck to you and hope something works out soon!!! F. robertson
