My mother found a lump in her breast, and after biopsy came back as cancer she has been take some herbal/natural medicines. She's been taking them for about a month.
Surgery has been booked for first week of Aug.
The surgeon said the cancer small, about 2 centimeters.
She believes it is getting smaller since take the meds.

Has anyone taken/heard tell of "Bell Lifestyle Products"?
She has been taking Supreme Immune Booster and also Stem Cell Activator .

What can I do next?

You should go to this site and ask your question on the alternative medicine board. http://community.breastcancer.org/

This site will be very helpful to you and your mother as you navigate this. I had BC last year and this was the only source of information that I used online.

I am glad that she is booked for surgery and not depending only on these pills. People that do this kind of thing only unfortunately do not have very good results. Natural is good in conjcuntion with traditional medicine when it comes to cancer.

Good luck to her.

My mom was recently diagnosed with early stage 2 breast cancer. Her lump was exactly the size of your mothers - only 2 centimeters. This is good news, as it means it probably has not spread to her lymph nodes.

My mom had her surgery and is now doing half way through her radiation treatments. She did not need chemo because it had not spread outside of this 2 centimeter mass.

My mom never felt sick, or missed a beat. Her surgery went very well, in fact, she didn't even need the pain medication they perscribed her.

There is no reason to believe your mother won't make a full recovery and live a long and healthy life.

I'm glad she is doing everything she can to help herself with her recovery and her "get well" mindset is awesome. I hope she has spoken to her doctor about the additional herbal/natural medications - this is extremely important. They can actually do more harm than good. Don't let her cancel or decline medical interventions or after care. Both are needed for a full recovery.

All the best.

Just remember that many, many homeopathy "therapies" are no more therapeutic than placebo pills. And as someone already said, things such as what your mother is taking could have an adverse effect with the actual medication she needs to take. It would be a shock to her if it turned out that her homeopathy is not only cancelling out her medications, but making the cancer bigger.

I'm sorry your mom is going through this. Modern medicine has come a long way with breast cancer and she would do well to trust her doctors on this one.

Perhaps they will make her FEEL that it's getting smaller. Her believing that she is better is okay, as long as she goes through with the surgery and doesn't rely on the meds.

She should be telling her doctor what she is taking. Not everything that touts itself as its name is really doing what it purports that it is. They aren't regulated by the FDA, and she needs to remember that.

I hope that the surgery and post surgical treatment the doctor gives her is successful and that she'll come out of this cancer free.

Whatever you do, do not let her cancel surgery. Yes the surgery will cause some scar tissue but it will also eliminate the lump(s). The surgery take a bit of the good skin with the cancerous cells to make sure it is all gone.

Treatment will depend on what they discover in the pathology of the cells.

As others have said the natural "herbs" could help or hinder in her recovery. It is good that she had the mindset that all is getting better. She needs to have a positive outlook on what she is about to embark upon.

Post me if you want or need more info.

Good luck to you, your mother and your family. You are all in this together.

Hi C.-

I cannot speak to breast cancer specifically...but my "SO", pete...was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer in jan 2008. The 'mainstream' medical recommendations for him included concurrent chemo/rad...and then surgery.

It was not that the docs we dealt with were 'against' alternative meds...but that...with chemo...some things were ABSOLUTELY CONTRA indicated.

And he is 'ned' (no evidence of disease) 4 years later...

If, what you are thinking, is to cancel the surgery...I BEG you to speak with her docs...some cancers are SO sneaky...and 'some' 'alternative' companies are SO willing to prey on folks...

I wish her well in her battle...and the decisions she is faced with.

Best Luck

If you want to look at homeopathic or nutritional support for immune systems and particularly for cancer (prevention, or reduced recurrence as in this case), then have your mother do something that is research-based and backed by scientific studies! I work with physicians and researchers in this area, and there is a lot your mother can do, but the company she is using has, to my knowledge, no experience in this area and is not connected to the research community. "Stem Cell Activator"??? It's normal for someone in her situation to jump at anything that promises help, but she could be causing more problems. If you want more info, let me know.
