My son is the opposite. I waited til he was almost 4 months old to introduce the bottle(playtex drop-ins). He took to it well. Now at 9 months he still refuses the pacifier and would rather play with a bottle.
Hi, moms. Have any of your breastfed babies been willing to suck on a pacifier but not take a bottle? I'm wondering what age seemed to matter, and maybe what nipple shapes. Thanks!

Yes, my daughter was that way. She was ok with the occasional pacifier but really hated bottles and generally refused them, even when it was expressed breastmilk.
Breastfed babies know what they are missing when they get the crappy fake nipple, so usually they rebel because it's not Mommy's heart sounds, voice and smells they get but the specific smell and tastes of plastics. Who can blame them for preferring Mommy?
My daughter wouldn't take a pacifier or bottle. We tried literally every brand I could find at three different stores. Eventually should would take one and that would work for a while and then she wouldn't take it. She liked the Gerber latex nipples that were kind of flat (if that makes sense) for the longest of any of the ones we tried. Eventually she did settle on Avent silicone nipples (the ones I had originally bought for her since my son liked them) until she transitioned to sippy cups (just bought the Avent spouts to put on the bottles, which worked quite well--unlike my son for whom I went through every brand of sippy cup I could find). However, the transition to taking one did not go smoothly at all and it took a few months (I went back to work at 8 weeks and she didn't regularly take bottles until about three months later despite us introducing the bottle at 6 weeks). I hope you find something that works.
My DD is 2 month and will not take paci or bottle so i feel you pain!
I got the breast flow bottle.. so far no go and I also hear latex nipples sometimes work, again so far no go with mine..
My current plan is just to keep trying, have my husband do it and other family till she gets it. I figure at worst when she is arond 4 month may just go right to sippy cup.
Good luck!
Neither of mine would ever really take a pacifier and the only bottles I used were the Playtex drop ins with the latex nipple. Neither of mine really ever got a bottle but they would take the Playtex when we did need it
Our little guy (almost 8 months now) does that. He took the bottle well ONE time at about 4/5 months old for my cousin. I left him a couple weeks ago and he only drank 2 ounces in about 8 1/2 or 9 hours..... They couldn't get him to drink well at all. But he LOVES his nuk!
It's okay with me though. I rarely leave him. (2 times in almost 8 months....) I LOVE my babies and have them because I WANT to be with them. Not leave them with someone else so I can do other things.....
My youngest loved his binky but would only take the breast flow bottles
My youngest (five months today) has loved loved loved her paci since day one but up until recently, would not take a bottle. At about three months we could get her to take a little water or juice in a bottle but never more than an ounce. Finally, about a month ago, she just up and took to the bottle. We had to start supplementing with formula since she was in the lower 5th percentile for her weight and seemed to always throw up about half of what she ate (breastmilk) so our pediatrician recommended that we try a sensitive formula. I think maybe she was just so hungry that the bottle was better than nothing lol. I'm happy to report that she has gain a substantial amount of weight now though and keeps most of her food down! I know that usually breast is best and I'm a total breastfeeding advocate but sometimes it's just not enough!
