YES, humans can get Parvo....but NOT the same strain as a dog.
I know this from personal experience. I contracted Parvo while living in AZ. I had been sick with weird flu symptoms and fever, had bloodwork done, and the office called and told me I had Parvo. What?? I though only dogs got that. This was a human strain. It took several weeks to recover. I had bizarre pringling pains that would suddenly appear and affect my limbs randomly. Then it would pass. Next day this would start all over.
I also had a puppy contract Parvo while living in Louisiana, back in the 80's. Treatment was not an option while so young. We had to bring her home to die. She seemed to go peacefully. Just slept, did not eat, then did not wake up.
