I like it. I agree with what Rachel said...pair it with a solid top and add a colorful scarf (like pick up a color in one of the flowers). I think it's very feminine...
Looking for some honest opinions. I have a small balance on a Talbot's gift card and they have a decent sale going on today. I found a pretty skirt that I like. It's a pencil skirt in a bold, artsy rose print (link will be in the SWH). I am a small plus size (16) but unfortunately, they don't have a pic of this on a plus-size model. I know that the length and cut will fit because I have similar skirts but I'm concerned about the pattern. This looks great on a slender model, but on someone much bigger, will it look like upholstery? I just don't want to walk around looking like an arm chair, kwim? I usually stick to dark neutrals on bottom so I don't have any printed skirts in my wardrobe to compare with. What do you think? Is this too bold a pattern for a large woman?

Actually, this is not suited for someone slim as it can be overpowering to a small frame (small frame here). The print should match the body type- larger prints for larger frame are actually slimming. Smaller prints for smaller frame. I think this would look nice on a larger frame. Go for it!
I personally would not wear this. I am a size 0-2 petite. It is too busy for me.
If you are plus size, it will accent that. I would stick to solid bottoms and if you like pretty florals and prints, get a top or a scarf to use as accent.
don't take this harsh please just my opinion but it looks like curtains!!
It's a cute skirt but will attract attention for sure.
Eyes will focus on the boldness of the print.
It's a very bold pattern. I like it, but I think it will probably look best on a very slender person. Are you a shapely 16 or a overall "round" 16? If you have hips etc I think I would pass. If you having a little "hang" in your stomach, skip it. I think the pattern will emphasize flaws, even minor ones. Some women are plus size, but generally "solid" if that's you, it may work. Good Luck!
I think it is adorable. I don't wear prints because my style is more muted, think solids in darker colors with tops with one or two colors. I have a boring wardrobe. I think if you are an outgoing fun person who just vibrates energy this would be an ideal skirt for you.
I don't think it matters if you wear a 16. That is really really really not a very big size and this won't look horrible on your hiney.
Consider what you'll wear with it. A solid black top? A daring bright pink one? That is what your style would say. What do you want to portray?
Here is my thing - do you LIKE your bottom half? Do you like your tummy, hips, but, thigh area? If so, then this skirt is PERFECT for you, I would offset it with cream or light pink vs black and I would have an appropriate amt of neck/chest/arms (3/4sleeves) peeking out to balance the length of the skirt and the pattern, and keep AWAY from shoes with an ankle strap (like the ones modeled with it) to refrain from cutting off your legs and shortening/fattening the look of your calves. IF you wear this skirt all attention will be on your bottom half so, I say it is a no go if you are not a fan and it is a green light if your bottom half pleases you. Good luck with your decision.
It may depend what you put on the top. If you can find a top in one of the minor but lighter colors in the skirt, it may look okay. I'm naturally built rather bottom-heavy, so I would not try that skirt (I couldn't, anyhow, since it isn't an a-line). But could you try it out and send it back if it doesn't work?
I think the bright splotchiness of the large print is even a bit much on the slender model (just personal though for this shot, if a real life-lady walked by in it, I probably wouldn't notice anything wrong). If the motif was just a little more muted I would say OK, but meh. However, I see larger ladies in bold prints and bright colors often and think it looks nice, so if you love the print and wear it with a smile and the right outfit, it will probably work. You like it for a reason :) Definitely make sure there is pop of color elsewhere in your outfit or it will stand out way more against all black.
I don't think its too bold for a "large" woman. It is a bold skirt, but its really pretty!
If you really like it find a top that you would wear with it out of your closet or buy a new one and take a friend that you trust their opinion on and try the whole outfit on in the dressing room and see what you both think! Remember to wear shoes that you would wear with it also, that sometimes makes a huge difference on a look compaired to looking at it in bare feet. If your ordering it online make sure you try it on before removing the tags, just in case.
There have been some bold skirts/ dresses that I think I will hate or make me look like a house and after trying them on they look great!
Its too hard to know for sure just by looking at a picture for any body type.
I love the skirt--but it would be a little too bold for me, personally.
But if you love it--rock it!
It depends on your shape. If your bottom half is the heaviest and you're really "hippy" or have a really big rear end, then I would stay away from it (those are my problem areas). If you're more chesty or have a tummy, then it should be fine. Also, if you're short, I wouldn't do length of that skirt with the big print -I think it will make you look dumpy. If you're on the taller side -probably okay.
I think if you like it you could carry it off with other solid colors. It is a black background so you could put it with mostly black with a little red near your face and it could work. I am also a plus size and wouldn't stress too much over that aspect (I have louder clothes in my wardrobe but can't swear all of them look great). I don't love the colors on me but I would wear that size pattern if I liked it. That skirt I would get a red or pink top that covers the waistline/hips to wear with it and maybe other black accessories.
Cute! I like the skirt.
Me don't like it...it is too busy! But depends on your taste...not mine.
I wouldn't wear it (I'm a size 22/24), I stick to solids on bottom. But I guess it depends on your usual style. Are you a taller plus size? I don't see this looking good on a shorter person.
im a bigger girl and there is no way i would wear a print THAT bold on my lower half, its just too much for a bigger girl. it will attract the wrong type of attention i think
Honestly - I think if you *like* and think you'll feel pretty wearing it, you should go for it.
I think it's cute!
No offense intended - but this bold print would look best on someone slim. It would definitely call attention to that area and if that's not your best body part, I would pass on it.
The pattern will definitely make you look larger than a solid, dark color. So it just depends on how much you like your lower half. If that's an area you like to accentuate then go for it! It's a pretty skirt :)
I perfer solids... but if you like go for it! If you get it and don't like it can't you return it anyway?
I do agree with the comment below that it would probably look better on a taller person.
The fashion experts on TV are telling women not to be afraid of things that show off their real size - the large boxy clothes bigger women tend to choose just accentuate our weight and don't cover it up. If you like it and can wear it with confidence, do it. Make sure you wear a shoe that makes your legs look longer, and put a solid top or jacket on to blunt the effect. Some nice jewelry to draw attention up to your neck and face will compliment it so all the "action" isn't below the waist. Go for it if you like it!
did you get it? if you like it, then buy it.....the print is pretty and since the background is black, i would probably not wear a black top - but a color off of the flowers, such as that green or coral color. . that way, it would draw the attention up and not just on the skirt. If you wear a black top, then all you see is the skirt....I am sure you would great in it....
