I am trying to find out who is the best place to rent a car from while in disney. We will need one for a week and would like to rent a minivan but can do 2 smaller cars as well. I have been looking at prices for all types of cars and am amazed at the prices, they are outrageous.
If anyone knows of how to get any deals i will take that as well.

If you are staying at Disney World they provide transportation inside the park but if you are staying at a hotel outside of the park many of them have FREE shuttle services to the different Disney Theme Parks. Just be certain you have airport transfers as well. I never rent a car while in Orlando. The last time we went we walked or caught the local buses or trams everywhere we needed to go. Honestly everything was right there. It was great.
When we were at Disney World we rented from Action Car rental b/c it was cheaper than from the airport (2 week rental). they were good... but like all car rentals don't forget to ask about all the extra charges they throw on from the state/city. Our bill was $100 over quote from all of the convention, city, etc. surcharges and taxes. We travel a lot and all the airports/big tourist areas do this.
I'm assuming you mean Disney World and not Land. If you are staying on property, you definitely won't need a car since Disney provides free transportation to their guests. If not, I would suggest seeing if there is a company outside of the airport that would maybe bring the car to you at your hotel. Good luck!
Have you tried looking near LAX or Ontario airport? It may be cheaper!

If you are staying on Disney property, they have a bus from the airport to the properties. They also have a big bus system so you won't NEED to rent a car. There is a car rental place on Disney property called the Disney CarCenter. If I remember right, this is Alamo and Budget (one location). You will need a credit card in the name of the driver in order to rent a car. My inlaws tried to pay for the car I was driving and we were told NOPE!

The airport has a ton of rental places right at the airport, with return at the airport. You can get a list off of the airport website.

The Orlando airport is on a toll road. 2 tolls for a total of around $3.00 (i think). You are responsible for paying any /all tolls if you are driving. The cars do have the toll pass on them, but you will get 'fines' in the mail when you get home if you use these. A cop had told us that we could since it was a rental. Then a week after we got home, we got two 'fines' with $5-6 processing fees. I called them up. The cop said ... they said he was wrong. So $15 in fees and fines for a $3 total toll...

If it's Disneyland California, I like Alamo Car Rental out of Burbank or LAX. Best deals, sign up for email alerts or rent thru Costco if you are a member. Alamo Burbank is a few steps from the airport. At LAX, it's a quick free shuttle ride.
If you are going to California you might want to consider landing at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana instead of LAX or Burbank, it's closer to Disneyland. I would look for a package deal on airfare, hotel and car rental. There are several restautants and hotels in walking distance of Disneyland. So unless you planning to go to the beach or another tourist hot spot you may not need a car.
Years ago there was a car rental agency called 'Rent a Wreck', they rented older cars instead of new cars. The cars are all in great working condition and well maintained.
I usually can find the best deals using payless car rental. You can sign up for their email deals and sometimes they will post discount codes on their Facebook page.
They also have deals on the hour for Orlando on their homepage.
Depending on when you go, you can score a deal.
I've rented with them 3 times so far and have been impressed. (except this last time I got an economy car with roll-up windows............that was a blast from the past...............but I saved a lot of money)

I used priceline to get ours last year. I started bidding low, then slowly increasing until it got accepted. We made sure the rental place was at the airport. When we got there, they told us to just go out to the lot and pick any car!
We rented our car on priceline last Sring and only paid $25 a day for a Sonata. We picked it up at the airport and never had any problems.
