Have you thought about going and asking a company do do a intern ship so that you can get back into the swing of things. You won't get paid as much as a non intern shiip job. But a lot of place are willing to work with people. Other wise you can meet with a counsler at a local college and tell them what you told us and they can guide you to the right direction.

I too am a stay at home mom of my soon to be 6 year old son. Have you looked into a reputable temp agency?
Where I work, and a few other places that I know of have filled permanent, full-time positions with people that came in as Temps.
To me, you get a feel for the office/company, and the company gets to see if you will fit with them.
Also, if you think you need some skill updating, check your local community college and see if they have any courses or workshops that may fit your need. I took a single class on web design (Dreamweaver) that really helped fill in some skill gaps I had without committing to a whole degree or courseload.

I am stay at home mom as well . Right now I do daycare part time to help out with money . It sounds like you want to update yourself and your skills . You have two choices - either get a job that gives you the ability to be reimbursed for college courses or find something you can do part time to help pay for it yourself .

I recently started my own Avon Business . 10.00 to get started and you can tell friends and family via the internet with an avon website or you can pass out brochures . You can work this business around your family . I would be part of a great support team for you and I am by far not pushy . everyone has their own goals and needs . If you have an Associate's and experience, there are plenty of jobs in the area for an admin. asst., and they should pay pretty well for experience. If your computer skills are up-to-date, then I don't think it is necessary for additional classes or training. Your experience will come in handy. You should be able to have your Career Services office where you earned your degree review your resume. I worked full-time as a Career Advisor at a university until last year and we did that for alumni.
