Carpet Cleaner for Throw-up Messes

Johnson & Johnson head to toe baby body wash (original) gets out even the toughest smells. I even keep a little bottle next to my sink when I cut onion......I love the stuff...

Vinegar works, as well as stuff like "nature's miracle" - I swear by a brand called "kids and pets" of spot cleaner that you can get at your local grocery store (the bottle itself is white, the spray top a bright pink) - it will get rid of any smell, though with anything, you may have to treat the spot a few times until the smell is completely gone.
Just as a side note - anything you use to clean the offending area that is wet will make the smell much more apparent until the area dries completely, so let it dry in between treatments, give it a smell, and then do it again if the smell remains after the carpeting dries.

Vinegar! It also works great for urine smells too. I use a hoover steam vac with really hot water only in it not solution. I treat the spot only with rug spot cleaner and or vinegar. My carpet is 5 years old and they look brand new my guest can't believe it, but also don't wear shoes on it..

I use a Bissel "little green machine" it's a hand held small carpet cleaner for messes like this. (they sell them at Target) I take it around and spot clean between real steam cleanings. If you don't want to store a machine (it's the size of a diaper bag) I also use Folex carpet cleaner (you can get it at home depot or most grocery stores) it will take out grease stains from your car carpets and lots of other impossible stains. I spray it in, rub it with my fingers and then soak it up with a clean dry towel, repeat if necessary. It's great stuff.
