My son is turning One...I want to celebrate his bday with giving out toys, books to needy children. I am having hard time finding a place where we can go, distribute toys and spend some time with children. Some hospitals dont allow this due to confidentiality reasons. Can some someone help me in giving some info or contact of social service agency in North/Central NJ. Thanks in advance :)

What can I do next?

You could try Kings' Daughters Day School in Plainfield. The ladies who work there are very caring and welcome help. You should be able to go there. If you can't, they are very connected to other nearby places and should be able to give you some suggestions.

You can drop them off at a school in newark or jersey city.. Or somewhere like that... You can also drop off at salvation army who sells things very cheap.. Like 25 cents for a book.. To people who need it.. Try these places.. Good luck..

Try connecting with a local church, your local city run health care facility, contact DYFS - Division of Youth and Family Services, Boys & Girls Clubs, Local schools or day care centers, etc. Hope this helps.

Great idea.

How about your local children's hospital. There is a Children's Specialized Hospital and their Mountainside facility has a pedicatric long term care facility and their New Brunswick has an acute care and infant/toddler department. I'm sure if you contacted them you could donate toys either to the facility or individual kids.

Try contacting a local church, a shelter within your town or near by facility, DYFS, local daycare centers, or even a hospice facility. Hospitals that specialize in children's health care might be good as well.
