Character Dining at Walt Disney World

We always did Chef Mickey at the Contemporary and breakfast at O'Hana at the Polynesian. We did the Pooh breakfast inside MK once. We always did the luau at the Polynesian (not the character one).

PErsonally I like the character breakfast and dinner at Ohana in the Poly. The breakfast is Lilo and stich plus a couple main guys like Pluto-nothing huge but the food is great! Amazing pineapple bread is the best part! And the food comes family style in skillets. The dinner is very unusual-there is a fire pit where they make all different shish kebob meats on skewers(chicken, steak and shrimp )and you can get as much as you want. I am semi-vegetarian but am ok with these meats for some reason. The sides they serve with it are really good as well. The main characters are all there dressed in hawaiin and lead the kids in a lot of fun and games throughout dinner. Your boys would definitely like this one.

When we stayed at the Floridian they had a princess brunch that was popular-you might want to try that. I hear it is pretty tough to get the Castle with Cinderella-you have to start at exactly 3 months (or whenever you are firts able to make reservations)

We have done Chef Mickey-it was OK. Pretty crowded and crazy though and we go in Feb. All of the main characters are there though. The dinner food is terrible so I would try breakfast there if you go.

Go to Cinderella's castle or Akershus (Norway section of Epcot) to meet princesses. I would try to get reservations right away since they fill up fast and are usually booked 6 months in advance.

We always start our vacation with breakfast at chef mickey's. I would do the princess meal - either as a mommy/daughter thing or tell the boys to suck it up. The ambiance of the castle is an experience, but the one in Epcot is more fun and relaxed.

We enjoyed Cinderella's Royal Table. We also did Akershus and it was nice. I heard about, I think 1600 something at the grand Floridian. It's supposed to have the step sisters and they make a big deal over fighting over all the cute boys. Your sons may enjoy that one. We are definitely going to check it out next time. We booked through dreams unlimited travel and they made all the reservations for us. Our helper was Beth Fejer and I can't say enough about how helpful she is. Best of all, it's free.

My 7 year old daughter loved the princess breakfast at Epcot. Good food, only one meal voucher, see all the princesses and get a free picture with Belle.
My favorite character meal was Hollywood and Vine @ Hollywood Studios. It had Handy Manny, Jake and the neverland Pirates, June from Little Einsteins, and Special Agent Oso. The food was AWESOME!! The characters interacted A LOT and did some songs and dances with the kids.

We did Chef Mickey. Food was ok. It was really crowded. They also did songs and dances with the kids.

We also did the one at MAgic Kingdom with Winnie the Pooh and Friends, and it was REALLY crowded! We did lunch, and I didn't particularly care for the buffet. But to each his own on the food.

For your daughter Cinderella's Royal Castle and Cristal Palace (Pooh Bear and friends) and for the boys Chef Mickey's. My boys were about that age when we went and they even liked Cristal Palace. We did not do the castle that time but like someone else said it is a lot harder to get into there.

We always did Chef Mickey's when I was growing up, so we did that when we took our kids in 2009. When we go back, we will do it again.

I bet your boys would have fun at the character dining, at least all of my kids would! So I can't imagine any kid not having fun there.

If they are NOT going for sure though, do the princess one in the castle.

I have boys only so I don't know too much about princess dining. I do know that you can do Princess character meal in the Magic Kingdom castle but it costs for two meals vouchers( from what I hear). Chef Mickey's was great - we did that twice. We did the one at Animal Kingdom once - they were all in safari attire. There is another place at Magic Kingdom with Winnie the Poo and friends. And there is one place at Epcot. As far as I know the best girl place is in Magic Kingdom at the castle. BOOK EARLY!!!! We booked 6 months ahead of time to get a decent time. have fun. Mine LOVED it. We got autograph books for each character to sign. It was so fun.

Is there really any other choice than to take your little princess to Cinderella's castle! As you said the boys might not go with, let them decide. I didn't think my son would be into any of the characters at all. He is 8. But he gladly took pictures and had them sign his autograph book. Just like everyone said...book now it is a hot ticket! You might have better luck getting a seat if it is just the two of you.
