Hey there! My husband and I are having our third baby.Yay!! :) We were looking at travel systems in the store and really liked the Chicco travel system. I noticed it's much more expensive than the travel systems we have purchased in the past. My question is if this travel system is worth the extra money? It seems great but I just want to hear it first hand from a mom. Thanks!! :)

What can I do next?

We have the Chicco travel system and it has held up beautifully through 2 children. I still use the stroller with my youngest (18months) and my 3 1/2 year still will ride in it on occasion. I definitely feel it was worth the extra money. My sister just had a baby and bought the Chicco system also and loves it.

I have the travel system and loved it. The carseat is one of the lightest on the market and the stroller is awesome. The stroller while it is big and bulky is great and I used it daily up until my little one was about 20 months. I will still use it now (she's almost 2.5) if we are dog sitting because she walks to slow for the dogs. Easily controlled with one hand and the basket is huge. I would wait for it to go on sale at Babies R Us and then get one of their coupons to bring the price down.

No, in my opinion, the travel system strollers are just way too heavy. We went with a stroller (Peg Pergo) that universally fit our car seat (Snug Ride). It weighs 9lbs and I can close it with one hand. Good luck.

I LOVE our Chicco Cortina stroller, we didn't get the travel system so I can't comment on the carseat. But my son is 3 years old now and we still use the stroller, it has held up and still is in great looking and working condition. We have had both Evenflo (junk) and Graco (heavy & bulky) strollers and the Chicco is our favorite and it folds up smaller. The basket is great, I love that it has the hard plastic on the end instead of the mesh that rips easily. It is worth the money!

Love it and recommend to all my friends. The stroller turns on a dime with 1 hand. It also reclines flat so baby can sleep. The car seat is very sturdy. I bought the graco combo for my parents house so we didn't have to travel with everything. Major difference we hate the graco. Only complaint on carseat is it makes the baby sweaty and doesn't have a good sun shade. We put a receiving blanket under head and purchased a sun shade to attach to stroller

My cousin just bought a chicco travel system and thats what I plan on buying with our next. I bought a baby trend one with my DD and the carseat sucked! It had no padding and the handle always stuck! I also bought it with the jogger, which is nice but doesn't fold up well.... I think the Chicco stroller folds up pretty compact and lays flat and the carseat is ranked at the top for safety. If you are going to buy the carseat I would buy the travel system because it is definately more cost effective. I tried my cousins Chicco carseat in my jogger and it didn't fit, so make sure you know that before you buy 2 different brands...:) Good luck!

I got the Chicco Cortina Travel system with my first baby and loved it to pieces. The stroller is a dream. So many invaluable features. The keyfit infant carseat is incredible as well. Sturdy, durable, comfortable, high safety rating, and easy to use. I just handed mine down to my husband's niece to use with her new baby and she loves as much or more than I do. We had baby number 2 coming very soon after #1 so I opted to get the Chicco Together Cortina Tandem Double stroller and Keyfit Infant Seat for this one. I would still have the original one, but I needed to be able to put my lil guy in the stroller with my baby girl. Which meant we needed a little stroller for using just to get her around when he was not with us--so we looked them all over and got her the Chicco LiteWay--needless to say, another great purchase. Thier products and customer service are exceptional. Some of the best features on the single travel system were the one hand open and close, large basket underneath, love that the tray could unlatch on one side to swing out of the way or lift off completely. It drives like a dream, even one haded and loaded with baby and bags. I just don't think you can go wrong with such an amazing and durable piece of baby gear. Ours even went through airports and cargo bays on planes 6 or 8 times and did beautifully!

When I had my 3rd I took my Sit N Stand stroller to Babies R us and found out the Chicco fit and was compatable with it. So, in our situation I re-used our stroller we had and just saved money by only purchasing the car seat.

Congrats on Baby

My understanding is that the Chicco and the Graco are pretty similar. If you really love it, go for it. I had the Graco Quatro Delux and it held up really well. My son is almost three and we still use the stroller part! It washes easily and I never had issues with folding it.

I will tell you, though, both travel systems are heavy and bulky. The Graco fits in the trunk of my SUV, but in the trunk of my husband's Acura.

We have it and LOVE it, but have no others to compare it to. Very easy to handle, has cup holders for both parent & tot, and a closed compartment on the handle for parent. Also- the handle is easily adjustable for different parent heights :) Carseat fits in easily and rides smooth. We love the carseat, too. Our daughter is only 21lbs at 18 months, so we're still using it, rear-facing even. Only complaint with the carseat is that it takes both hands to put the handle down and sometimes that means putting something else down in order to complete the task. Otherwise, we've been very happy with it.

Chicco is awesome! I used to work at Babies R us and it was usually the one we went through the most.
Chicco is a European brand which I trust the most. They have higher safety standards than we do. One downer for the chicco is that the fabric doesn't breath well so come summertime it's going to get hot if you don't have a good a/c.
I'm personally not a fan of the way Chicco and Graco strollers fold. I love how Peg Perego Plinko P3 folds. Ok so do you remember when you would fold paper in elementary and they said hot dog style or hamburger? Well I compare Chicco as a hamburger and a Peg as a Hot dog. If you have a small amount of storage, I'd go Peg.
Peg's are expensive, but worth it. I found mine brand new on ebay for $170; which is half the normal price. They will hold any car seat, you just need to get the adapter strap. So you could get a Graco car seat (also the only American brand I would buy) and then get the peg. That is the route I'm going with my next baby.
