My 8-year old is getting pimples on her face. They are on her nose, cheeks etc. She showers every other day or so and we've started with her washing her face at night but she still gets more pimples. She does not shower or wash her face at mom's, but that's only a few days a week (and no way to get her to do it there). I never had acne so I'm not sure what to put on her face. She's just a child so I don't want to go with harsh treatment here! Any suggestions?

One of my 3 daughters started breaking out early too. We use a product called Zap It from the wellness company that I work with. All of their products are made with natural ingredients and are non toxic, so you don't have to worry about them being too harsh. Let me know if you want more info on how you can purchase it.

One of my girls was breaking out at 9 yrs old. It turned out it was not actually acne that you think of with pimples but was related to her growing older. I cannot remember what the doc called them but she uses a wash once or twice a week and it has helped without drying out her skin. They are little bumps that do not get "heads" like you think of as pimples. Clean and Clear or another gentle cleanser should be fine.

My daughter has also used Zap It from Melaleuca but it tends to dry out her skin if used more than twice a week. She does not have sensitive skin but has had this happen with Zap It and Neutrogena acne cleanser.

She could try washing morning AND night with very warm water & a washcloth. My daughter uses a foaming face wash at night and Dove face cloths in the am. You have to experiment to see what products work for her.
I had tried to get my daughter to take daily probiotics~worked like a miracle for my son's complexion~ but she wasnt really motivated to remember them until recently when her acne got worse.

Is she using any moisturizer? If she is washing her face but not using any moisturizer then the soap strips the oil off the face and the skin can overproduce oil to make up for the loss. Have her use some sort of oil-free facial lotion after washing her face with a cleanser made especially for acne-prone/oily skin.
