My friend took her baby to a Chiropractor for acid reflux and said that he did get some relief. It took some time but the child did better after adjustments and didn't spit up as much. I take my family to Dr. Grant at Cool Creek Chiropractic. He is fantastic and my kids love him. His number is ###-###-#### and website is www.coolcreekchiro.com. Good luck with everything!

I didn't try it, but I've heard good things. Actually, I've heard that you should try Cranial Sacral therapy first because it's gentler. Check in to it:)

Try April Dunnington in Centerville. She is wonderful with babies. I recommend her highly!

I don't think that it would hurt. My son who is almost 3 has had trouble w/reflux up until about 2 months ago. And the reason, I believe, for him not having it anymore is because he has been seeing a chiropractor. He has been on meds, seen specialists, had two gastric procedures and tons of tests done. Nothing has shown to have worked. So we started going to a chiropractor for other reasons and I swear he has not spit up at all. Even the chiropractor said that he has being working for the past 5 years. In all of the children that he has worked w/that had been diagnosed w/reflux have been "cured" after having been adjusted. He explained to me that when a baby is born, whether it be c-section or natural, the first thing that the doc usually grabs is the head. That puts so much strain on an infants neck that it throws it out of alignment and forms a sort of "kink" in the neck area. He has 3 children himself and the first thing that he did to them when they were home was realign them. I think that you should check it out. It's not going to hurt your child and I really believe that it works and wish that I had done something about it when my son was first born. Best of luck and keep us posted.

I took one of my kids to the chiropractor for a really mild case of reflux. Between that and a couple of visits with a physical therapist, it cleared up within a month or so. Hope that helps!

Hi A.,

My sister is a big advocate of using the chiropractor and my mom always had us go when we were younger. My sister is a mommy of 3, none had reflux, but she has a Down's baby and her others had frequent ear infections. She's always found the chiropractor helpful. Not sure how many visits, but I would check into it and I'm sure the chiropractor will give you options and suggestions on what tx would include. My thought is that it is good to tap into other forms of healing besides medicine.

YES YES YES...before you do meds take your daughter to the chiropractor. My daughter is almost 3 months old and she goes every few weeks for her reflux. She still needs mylanta to help soothe her belly but the chiropractor helps.

Hi A., my chiopractor is very gentle and I myself would not hesitate to take her but there is also value in massage. The lady we go to is also very gentle and you would be surprised how well it works. This just another idea from a almost 69 yr. grandma

Hi, A.! I have a chiropractor neighbor and he adjusted my baby three times for reflux and not sleeping, and quite honestly, it didn't do anything for her. I don't think it could hurt, because from what I understand, their spines are a little out of line from the birthing process. If nothing else, it could get her back in line. I would research it a little more first.

One of the things we always did with two of our reflux babies was to sit them up over my shoulder for 15-20 minutes immediately after they ate. I couldn't sit them in a bouncy, a swing, carseat or anything. If I did, they threw up. It helped keeping them up over my shoulder with no pressure on their bellies. It's a pain, but at least it helped keep the milk in and not out!! Good luck!

I took my kids at just a few days old for adjustments. My chiropractor does a free adjustment on newborns. He said they can start off out of alignment due to labor and positions in utero. He uses the activator method - so it's very gentle.

My daughter did have reflux and we took her in a few times for that - but didn't have much impact. I think it's definately worth a shot. I've had friends that it worked amazingly well for, and I think you will know within a few visits if it will work for your daughter.

BTW - My chiropractor likes to do maintenance - which they see you a few times a week! I just basically tell him what I'm going to do. I show up every few months and he's fine with it - so don't feel pressured into a plan.

I have had great success with chiropractic care for my child since his birth. He never had reflux but did have digestive problems. Chiropractic adjustments were very beneficial especially for the gas. He was worn out after the adjustment so expect your child to take a big nap if you go. My son is now 16 mos old and is doing great. Normal digestion and minimal gas. I think I've taken him a total of 4 times.
