Have you/do you see a chiropractor for sinus problems? How well does it work?

I have had ongoing sinus problems, that has gotten progressively worse over the last few years. I saw an ENT and he said the next step is surgery. The meds he gave me helped the allergies, but not the sinus issues. And b/c I'm still BFing he's limited on the medications he can prescribe.

I got a massage this weekend and he asked at the end if I have sinus problems (I said yes), and he told me he drained my lymphnodes b/c there was a lot of "activity". This got me wondering about seeing a chiropractor for my sinus problems, since I would like to avoid surgery if possible. I want surgery to be the last resort.

TIA!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone!! I have tried medications and nasal rinses, they don't help my sinuses (though they do help the allergies). I have been weaing a Baltic Amber necklace for 2 weeks now and only had 2 headaches (which is amazing for me! and one of those days I didn't wear the necklace). I'm planning on keeping this on:) But I will now definitely be looking into the chiro for more help. I hate not being able to breath when kissing my DH b/c of sinus inflammation.

I have been taking a nutritional supplement for almost a year, and it has done wonders for my allergies, sinuses, and headaches. Let me know if you'd like some info about it. I haven't taken allergy meds since May! Also, I have not seen a chiropractor for allergies, but I have heard that some people see great results when they do. Good luck to you!

The chiro near my office, Betsy Taylor, is known for this. She is a real believer in holistic, homeopathic healing and letting the body work within it's natural machanics. She has several patients that see her for migraines, sinus headaches and so on. She's at 3117 S Carrier and her rates are good! :)

My regular doctor is a D.O. and has done adjustments on me when I have had very bad sinus infections. Set my head draining like you wouldn't believe-a whole box of tissues in an hour! I don't get them regularly because adjustments scare me a little, just when he deems them a medically necessary part of treatment. He also started me on Allergy Easy drops a few years ago, which I have continued through 2 pregnancies and nursing, and that has made a huge difference in my allergies and sinuses. Good luck!

Holistic is great! But why do you have allergy & sinus problems? I thought headaches were a part of life. About 3 years ago, I stopped eating MSG and no more headaches. I have had about two since. Do you need to change your diet or get rid of an oleander?

have you tried the saline nasal stuff??..., neti pots or i happend to pick up a squeeze bottle that you fill with warm water and the saline and then gently squeeze the bottle so the water flows through one nostril and out the other, a little easier to use than the neti pot. but it might help keep things moist and flushed out.

I don't have any personal experience but i think a chiro or some such would be great to help line up the cavities and tubes etc so that everything drained properly and didn't give you such pressure.

I have asthma and allergies and I have seen a difference since going to my chiropractor. I went while pregnant (both times) and while nursing (still am) and I have a significantly less sinus infections and problems due to allergies. I tried the nasal rinse, and saw very little improvement (this was before seeing my chiro). Hope you get some relief!

I actually used to have sinus/allergy problems, I no longer have these issues! Dr. Todd Elsner sees quite a few patients with sinus/allergy issues. Alot of the issues can come from you neck. He also performs myfascial release on the sinuses to help clear them out. You should give him a call! ###-###-####, he's in Mansfield.

Definitely see a homeopathic doctor/chiro. You'll need more than adjustments! I think with the right combination of adjustments, supplements and maybe herbs you'll be fine in no time!

I had horrible sinus problems for years. I used to get frequent headaches that would put me in bed because of the pressure behind my eyes. I got chiro adjustments, acupuncture, detox and supplements. I haven't had a sinus headache in 3 years :)

Good luck!
