Most cities have some sort of holiday tree lighting/parade about this time. I would check that out and see if there is one close to you.

We did the Gaylord Ice Show last year. And even though we had a terrific time and loved it, we still left feeling like we paid too much for the event. Just a thought.

Last Friday, we saw Rudolph at Casa Manana and the kids LOVED it! THis weekend, we're doing the NOrth Pole Express in Grapevine which my boys always enjoy. We also will go to Holiday in the Park at some point before CHristmas. There's also a Toys For Tots collection at the Ballpark in Arlington (admission is a donated toy) and there's free hot dogs, chips, dessert, etc. as well as games for kids and Santa pictures for free. They also have players there signing autographs (this is the part my husband loves). We also go light looking ALOT! They get in their jammies after their bath and we take a to go bedtime snack and drive around the neighborhood. The LOVE doing this and it's absolutely free. There are also some great neighborhoods like Interlochen in Arlington and there's one south of 820 - Glen something. Can't remember the exact name. Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie is always good too. Churches a lot of time have drive through things too. Just check the paper each weekend, and there are tons of free things listed.
