Hi everyone,
My daughter will be turning 1 the day after Christmas. So, I was wondering what gifts would be good to get her not only for Christmas but for her birthday too. Thanks!

What can I do next?

What about a play kitchen? My kids have loved ours since they could stand up to it.

You could get your child a big gift for Christmas, then follow up with a bunch of little gifts that go along with the big gift you got her. Little people by fisher price is a huge hit in our house, buy all our kids. Also, mega blocks is another hit, and they have lots of things that you could keep expanding. Books are always a favorite too. How about a pass to the childrens museum, or favorite play spot. With it being winter, you could get her a play area that you could use inside then move out for the summer. They make small ones for little kids that are just great!

A rocking toy. Fisher price makes a great rocker that turns into a push bike and then a bike (tricycle). We got my son one for his 1st b-day and he is now 4.5 and still rides the bike.

I have a 13 month old and went through this on his first birthday. He received a lot of gifts and it seems to me that he likes my pots and pans best. Taking this into consideration I wouldn't "go crazy" with gifts at Christmastime that won't be utilized. You could buy nice snow boots and a winter jacket or like somebody else said, books are always good. My child doesn't seem to care for any of the "flashing light and noise" toys but things he can stack (blocks)or fill up (balls in a bucket).. Good luck and enjoy.

My daughter got a princess disney ride on toy (it was like 30 bucks) she loves this toy. It is the only thing that for the past 1 1/2 years she plays with all the time. A play Kitchen is also a great idea, my daughter just loves hers.
Good Luck

I love collections and age one is a perfect age to start one for your daughter. Each year you add another piece to it.
Some ideas I have done in the past for my nieces are:
Precious Moment Figurines
Carousels
Christmas ornament representing each year.
You could start a charm bracelet for her (I love the
Pandora bracelets they are beautiful)
Another tradition in my family growing up is everyone got their very own nativity set at age one. We all have ours
to this day and we are all in our 40's & 50's now.
My son loved my nativity set so much my mother (his grandmother) gave him one two years ago at age 5. It is one of his most cherished gifts. ( when we were kids we would each set them up in our bedrooms at Christmas time with lights. I can still remember how special it felt to see it glow all night long).
Anyway those are a few idea.
