Christmas Gift for Husband

I'm stuck on what to get my husband for Christmas. This is his first year as a dad, and I have plenty of dad gift ideas, but I need a gift idea from a wife to a husband. I've exhausted all sport, tech, and romantic related gifts. Since we are flying back to Maryland for Christmas we have a $100 budget. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

What about music? My husband has this favorite artist, so every year I get him a calendar or a book by his favorite author (Although I have to rethink this one since his fav. is Robert Jordan who passed away a few years ago). It depends on what he likes. Maybe a movie basket, a bag of popcorn, candy and a movie ticket for a guy movie. Good Luck.

If you can get a sitter, wrap yourself in a bow (or something to that effect) Enjoy! :)

Depending on how often you and hubby get out, what about one night hotel stay. In most cases, you can check in early and ask for a late check out. Nothing like quality time. It can be christmas gift, but with reservations shortly after christmas. There are several Embassy Suites hotels around they offer evening drinks and full breakfast, which are both included in the price of the room. You can book a room for less than 100 a night.

My husband and I do not do gifts specifically for Christmas, birthday and anniversary for each other. Of course, those special days are acknowledged with a little something, usually a spa gift certificate for me and something my hubby needs such as wallet, workout clothes, tools, etc. My daughter will give him and me a gift of some sort.

We do things all year long as we need it. For instance, we just got a new KitchenAid cooktop installed in our kitchen. It is something very nice, adds to our home and is something we needed. As for daughter, we do special things for her at Christmas and her birthday which is 12/27 but still....we focus on all year long and things we/she needs vs waiting until a holiday and spending all the money at once.

Prime example for daughter was when she continued excelling in orchestra and in the middle of the year, we went and she tried out violins until she found one that was right for her. This expense was certainly not one we wanted to hold off on for a year because her ability and performance needed it at the time. She continued interest in orchestra, has continued to excell and we know it must be a good violin when we observe her instructors always choosing her violin to play because they love it.

I understand the budget.... find something from the heart. Maybe some special photos of you, your daughter or both you and daughter.

Happy Holidays and I hope you have a safe trip back to Maryland!

V.,
Have you thought about a watch? Maybe even going to James Avery and getting him a ring or a simple necklace. You could even try a local spa and get him a massage.
Good luck.

Maybe get onine to his favorite sports team and purchase tickets to like the Rangers or something. Get two great seats so him and a buddy can have a guys day out. Also, we are huge sports fans here and you can write directly to the teams. We have recieved letters back with tons of goodies...the kids love it and I'm sure the players love to get letters telling them how much we support the team in good times and bad. :-) Your husband may enjoy a letter from his favorite team!

If you have someone that can watch your little one, how about dinner and maybe a movie. You can get a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant, and put an invitation for a date night with it.

If you have a lot of pictures of your child and your husband, you could go online to a site like www.creativememories.com (there are others too) and use their fixed template pages and make a book of the 2 of them. The fixed template pages don't cost anything. All you pay for is the final book. Call it Our First Year or Dad and me. It will be something he will have for years to come AND you'll get those pictures all in one place.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
