What about a nice name brand pen?
Mont Blanc
Tiffany
Cartier
Something from Neiman Marcus
Since he seems to like accouterments...
good luck,
Susan
I have NO ideas on what to get the bf this year, he is not into electronics, doesnt have nor want an iPOD, laptop etc. He is very into name brand clothing and just bought himself 4 new scarfs (that was one idea I had...) He has plenty of jackets & coats, shoes & tennis...I want to get him something different, but not tickets to anything because that NEVER works out in the end. I am hoping to afford to take him to NY for his bday in April, if you can play off that. I'm not trying to spend a lot of money and was hoping he would have a few things to open. He's not a very sentimental guy in the sense of tangible items, he has a great memory! Any ideas please???

If you are planning a trip in April to the East Coast for his birthday, why not purchase a package now and cash-in on some of the holiday deals!
You could do a box containing "classic" NYC items and let him figure out what he'll be openning on his birtday! I would include:
- Tickets to a show
- Make reservations at a famous restaurant (if you can afford to) and include a gift certificate
- An apple
- Digital camera (if he doesn't already have one)
- Sweater (b/c it's still very cold here in April)
- Yankees hat
A magazine is a good suggestion, my husband loves his magazines and newspapers! Does he like to eat? I have ordered multiple gifts from this bakery in Minnesota called Zingerman's. It's totally cool, although a tad expensive, and the food is delish. I bought my husband and my FIL various things from there including a pork gift package (LOL!) that has different kinds of bacon and sausage in it as well as some bacon bread that got good reviews by my FIL who's a little bit afraid of things like that! They also have coffee cakes, cinnamon rolls, sweet bread, savory bread, you name it. They also have this totally awesome Rueben Sandwich kit that I've contemplated a few times and it comes with everything to make 2 full sandwiches. Anyway, you might check it out. I fall back on it whenever i have a man that I'm not sure what to get for and they usually love it, plus it's different!

Her husband did a great series of blogposts about exactly that.

Sounds like the kind of guy who may like something sleek like a money clip. Does he enjoy cooking? Maybe some nice culinary tools. Sounds fashion forward, maybe a rugged urban leather cuff, or art for his walls.

You could make him up a coupon booklet... Free homemade dinner, massage, house cleaning, sexual favors :) etc....
I got my husband this great leather beer holster (we live in TX, so it was extra fun for us). This was appropriate because 1. my hubby likes beer and 2. he cooks out a lot. He really got a kick out of it and it is a great addition. It also holds sodas, perrier, etc if not a drinker, but a cooker-outer (LOL!)
I believe you can get his monogram branded in it. Red Envelope.com.
OHH they also have these great leather men's travel kits (for your trip) or you could get a men's travel kit from Jon Hart designs (love it!) if he doesn't have one or it is shabby looking. http://www.jonhartdesign.com/main/index.php
Lingerie.
I would personally wrap it in a box.
In my experience, experiential gifts (like your NY trip, or lingerie) are the best ones for guys who "have it all".
Have you smelled Jean Paul Gautiers' - Le Male? It is oh my good lord almighty hot. It comes in a torso shaped bottle. All the guys I know that are into named brand clothing are also into expensive cologne. 212 by Carolina Hererra and True Religion also smell amazing. Right now the department stores have free gift going on. I know, for instance, Dillards has a free bag with all the big mens colognes. Some are messenger bags, some are gym bags.
How about a subscription to one of the "mens" magazines: Mens Health, Maxim - Play Boy :-) lol GL
- a nice leather travel/toiletries case
- Isotoner gloves
- fashionable socks
- gift card to Jos A Bank
- a gift card to his favorite barber/stylist
if you find a man that DOESN'T have it all..........please LET ME KNOW.
my husband is the kind of guy that will buy what/when he wants...hard to get for him too
I feel like my husband is one of those men who has everything - or the things he wants are more expensive than what I want to spend on Christmas! It ends up that he wants a new wallet, some CDs, thermal socks and scratch off tickets are always a hit. I also like gift cards to fast food restaurants like Subway and McDonalds to put into his stocking!
is he a cook? (get a great chef's knife)
plan a romantic evening for you two.
