Christmas Gifts Already

Depending on how much you want to spend....

Are they interested in learning to play an instrument? You could give an instrument and lessons.

How about other clubs/memberships? Like park district classes or YMCA membership so they can swim/play in the gym/etc?

Art supplies are good if they like things like that, or how about items to redecorate their rooms? Would they like an aquarium with fish or a turtle, etc?

Are they into science? How about a microscope or telescope? An ant farm? They sell those National Geographic kits in Walmart now and you could include a homemade "promise" coupon to take them to a museum or planetarium....

Just a few random ideas!

Hello there! I have an 8 year old daughter and the latest craze among the little girls these days are Webkinz. They're little stuffed animals that "come to life" when you log in the code they come with on the website when you purchase one. I'm sure you've heard of them. For the 12 year old boy??? Umm...gift cards are always nice so he can pick out his own things. Just an idea. Good luck!

Have you thought of having them write a letter to Santa? Perhaps you could just tell your oldest that it's his "wishlist" since he doesn't believe in Santa anymore. That way, you know what they want and don't have to guess and they'll still be surprised because you obviously don't have to get them everything on the list.

You could also tell them that Santa asked you to take them shopping to get ideas. Go to Toys R Us or Target, have them look around, note what they're interested in, then do your own shopping at a later date.

Maybe a computer as a joint gift for the older 2? Or MP3 player. Gift cards for clothing is always a hit with my 11yr old.

If they are both into music how about mp3 players. They have them that can hold photos, videos and music for your son; and just music for your daughter. You can also try ditigal cameras. Take a look around there room while they are at school, pay attention to what they are watching and talking about the most. Sooner or later you will notice that they are talking about certain things the most. They will end up telling you exactly what they want without you having to ask.

My sister-in-law's cousins are 12 and 15 and they have this guitar game for on of their video games (I think its playstation, but can't be sure.) It looks really interesting when I've seen it. It's set to songs and gets harder as the player gets better, but also is actually teaching the real cords for playing the guitar. My husband, brother and brother-in-law all have also been really into when its been brought over (and all are in their late 20s to 30s and none were ever big into video games) so I think it would keep his interest for awhile.
