I actually know someone in my husbands stay at home parents group that does them, and it is reasonable! I will get her info for you if you would like! Let me know!
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have and ideas for making creative photo cards? A friend of mine did a Santa Cookie theme last year...and we did one with our 3 month old under the tree. This year, we'd like to do something fun and creative but I cannot come up with any ideas! If you have don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear any ideas! Thanks!
Thank you all so much for your creative ideas! I used shutterfly last year - and I loved it. I think we are going to get a big box (because our son is big and walking) and put him in the decorated box under the tree. I like that idea! Thanks again everyone for sending me so many helpful tips!

For the truly goofy family - you could scrounge up some really hideous christmas sweaters and take a corny picture... of course you'd have to have the right "funny line" to write in the card...
I love to use shutterfly.com but there are other's also. winkflash, kodak etc. You just download your picture's and they have ton's of design's to choose from.
A little about me:
Single 35 year old mom of a 4 year old girl
I have not been too creative myself, but over the years I've seen some creative efforts:
1. Swaddle the baby and set up a "manger" scene;
2. Wrap a big box (inside and out) with colorful paper and fill it with styrofoam peanuts. Rest your baby in the peanuts and photograph him as your newly opened "present".
3. One mom pile the bed with stuffed animals and then nestled her baby among them with a santa hat on. It was really cute. He was about the same size as the stuffies and looked like he was just part of the decor.
Photoshop is another way to be creative, but you need to have more of an artistic gene than I have :) You could simply wear a santa hat, make a funny face, and then colorize the photo green to make yourselves into the Grinch family. :)
Oh...the one card we did make that was on the creative side involved a handprint tree. My DH printed his two hands in green paint at the bottom of the paper (heels together, fingers pointing east and west), I put my slightly smaller hands over his, my son put his next, and then my daughter (a few months at the time) put her one tiny hand at the top. We painted on a star, and then (okay, this is weird...) got our dogs and cats to walk in colored paint and step all over the bottom of the picture. We made their steps into 'packages'. We took the whole think to KINKOs, had it scanned and shrunk down to photo size, converted to a .pdf file, and then we printed photo cards at Target. They were very cool, though time intensive.
Hi,
I was trying to find something creative also.
I found this sight by HP, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/activityCenterHome?lc=...
Check it out, I have not had much time to look into it to make any specific suggestion. They offer web classes also.
Hope it helps. Good Luck

Sometimes rather than scrambling to create a theme, its nice to use one of those services like Snapfish or Shutterfly where you can add anywhere from 1-8 pictures on a single picture card, and just send along a nice collage of shots from throughout the year. Since sending a holiday card is often the only time we communicate with certain friends and family, giving them a glimpse into the fullness of your life with your child can be a refreshing change from just sticking to a christmas theme.
I just wanted to add a little comment on the Christmas package idea with styrofoam peanuts. They sell soy packing peanuts that actually dissolve quickly if they were to get wet (like if a child happened to put one in his/her mouth), plus they're better for the environment : ) I didn't know this until my mom started using them for her business recently.
I'll be checking the other responses as I've been thinking the exact same thing about our Christmas card. I especially like the handprint tree idea!
A friend of ours put their son into a huge Christmas stocking and took a picture. I thought that was really cute! 14.5 months might be too big for that now though, their son was only about 3 months at the time.
I'm either going to take a picture with Santa, or in front of our tree this year maybe with some gifts.
Hello S.
What about getting a big box with a top wrapping it and then have you and your hubby sit next to it with your baby inside the box and take a family photo?
Good luck and hope this helps.

I saw one once with the little one in the tub and a Santa beard made of suds... the card said "Ho Ho Ho"... it was cute!
