I have no idea what to get them for Christmas. My in-laws and I usually figure out what we're getting them so we don't double dip them. My baby will be almost 8 months old by Christmas and my toddler is 3 1/2. I am needing some reccomendations on toys that we can get them because I'm drawing a blank and going to start shopping!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

For the 3 year old, maybe a power wheel car if you can swing it in your budget. Or maybe a bike or scooter or any outdoor toys are always a hit with my boys - baseball tees, balls, bats, basketball goal, bubble stuff, sidewalk chalk. Those are fun for any age, and really can "grow" with the child. My sons also like cars, action figures, view master, magna doodle, etch and sketch, legos (you can get Disney Cars, Diego, MIckey Mouse sets or just plain sets), magnetix. Last year, my youngest son had just turned 3, and his favorite was the Crash Em Up Race Track. Board games are fun at 3. At that age, my kids liked Candy Land, Lucky Ducks, Let's Go Fishing, Hullabaloo, and Don't Wake Daddy.

For the baby, at that age, my sons got duplo blocks (the kind that are bigger for babies hands), Little People, musical instruments.

I'd browse the aisles at Toys R Us and see what there is to offer. If you're like me, you'll get more than enough ideas!

Try a personalized music CD or personalized singing alarm clock from Kiddos Delight.

Sorry, I just saw this. Anyway, my now 4-year-old still loves the battery-operated refrigerator magnets that Santa left in her stocking nearly 2 years ago. They look and act like gears, and while the noise they make annoys me, that is one inexpensive gift that has been an enduring hit. Your 6-month-old will like the movement and color and sound, and your older child will have fun making the gears go around.

You can splurge and get one with lights, if you want, but ours (made by TOMY), is fine for us. Every single kid that comes in our house makes a beeline for the magnets. (Well, those and the ride-on Thomas the Tank Engine, that is! Another good gift from Santa.)

Action figures are a safe bet. Or cars. My kids are grown, but things like a Bat Mobile never seem to go out!

For your 3 yr. old what about the new fisher price power cycle? I have a 3 yr. old and he is asking for it... It is an educational game that hooks up to the tv but they also get exercise riding it. Or perhaps a train set, a tent, tool kit, the possibilities are endless-go to Toys R Us.com and put in his age-there are tons of choices.
For your 8 mos. old I would get lights and sounds whatever...they are pretty easy. HTH
