We had our third son at a birthing center 3 days ago and it was an amazing experience. We now want to get our son circumcised and are having a hard time finding a doctor that does it. We have called the hospital, but no one can seem to give us an answer. We do not yet have a pediatrician in the area.
If you have any referrals of doctors that preformed this for you or had your child outside of a hospital and then had him circumcised else were I we could really use the advice.
PS...Please do not tell me we should not circumcise our children or tell me of all the awful things that can happen. We are informed parents making informed decisions for our family. We respect the rights of others to make choices that reflect their values and choices as well.

Dr Michael Erickson with Sunset Pediatrics is our son and daughters pediatrician and I absolutely love him! I don't know if he can help you out with the circ, but he would be a doctor worth the call to see. You say that you currently do not have a ped and I would totally and completely reccomend him! You have a great opportunity to get this done by a pediatric urologist. There are only a couple in Portland. For other urological reasons, my son saw and were very happy with Dr. Steven Skoog at OHSU. Dr. Chris Austin in the same practice. There is also Dr. David Lashley. His practice is near Good Sam and he trained under Dr. Skoog.
Broadway Medical Clinic has a couple of Peds that do circs. I used to work there and all the peds were really good. Dr Heffernan was the one who did circs primarily.
Dr Brian Drake who is an OB GYN and delivered my 3 grandson's does circumcisions in his office. He was associated with Adventist Medical Center, ###-###-#### and had an office in the building next to them, but he may have moved his practice more to Providence Portland and then might have an office closer to them.
Dr. Lashley is wonderful. He performed a circumcison revision on my first son and is seing my third son for undescended testicles. If you can get in with him it is worth a try. The reason I say this is I am not sure if Dr. Lashley will just do a circumcison unless there is some other kind of a problem or your pediatirician refers you to him. It is my understanding that if he just saw anyone who needed this simple procedure that would be all he does. If not going with an OBGYN or one of these other suggestions will more than likely be just fine. My other two sons had circumcisions done right by my OBGYN and they were perfect.
