Cleaning a Plasma TV

My lovely daughter thought she would be a big help and clean our plasma TV with Shout Laundry Stain Remover. I have tried to clean it off with the TV cleaner for plasma TV's but this only seemed to smear it around. Does anybody know of anything I can use that is safe for my TV that can get the Shout off?

What can I do next?

If the water doesn't work, I'd call a repair shop and ask them what to do. The Shout may have damaged the screen.

Oh Dear...

You may need to call the manufacturer and see if it can be saved.
Actually I encourage you to call or contact the manufacture.

Nothing but a microfiber cloth and water should be used on these TV screens. Did your TV come with a cleaning cloth?

Here is a link on how to clean these TV's.

First make sure the TV is turned off for at least ten minutes. Then carefully use a soft cloth and water. You don't want to allow any water to run down the screen but that is the only way you can get soap off of it.

If it's a lost cause if you don't get it off then you have nothing to lose if you use some Windex and a dust free cloth. Try whatever the repair shop says first though.

I would do vinegar. 1:1 ratio of vinegar and water. Spray it on a clean cotton cloth and wipe it. Don't spray it directly.
Hope it gets it all off.
Good Luck.

I think you're going to have to use several very lightly sprayed applications of a diluted generic cleaner and absorbent paper towels to remove the laundry spray. Electronics cleaner is really just for dust and finger smudges.

Follow the manufacture or tv repair instructions first but if all else fails vinegar usually cuts soap, and also cleans almost anything. Maybe a little white vinegar with warm water will help.
