can you bring it outside and rinse it off with a garden hose?
I have a space saver high chair by Fisher Price. I was wondering if there is a more effective way to clean it after meals. Food will get stuck in the seat constantly and under the pad especially hard-boiled eggs and pasta. Any suggestions? I was considering buying a new dustbuster or maybe using the attachments to my vacuum cleaner. Thank you!
Thanks everyone! The seat pad is machine washable, but a pain to take the straps on and off. And I have another one for that reason, forgetting how difficult it is. All good advice, I guess there's no way around the mess as babies are messy! I will try the vacuum cleaner attachments.

I have a space saver high chair also, and clean off crumbs and such with a small hand broom. Once a week, I take it outside and scrub it down, since the seat fabric doesn't come off.
i just shake mine out on to the floor......then sweep it up. I also take it out every few weeks, spray it down, and scrub it.
I finally just removed the pads from mine. They were such a pain and I've been happy ever since I took them off. :)
Hi A.,
Maybe the easiest solution would be to just throw a thin old towel over the chair BEFORE you put your baby in it. Everything stays in the towel, the towel gets washed, voila! ;)

I had a cat that would sit at the foot of my daughter's high chair. When she was done eating and I got her out, the cat would jump up and clean her mess like a dog...It was the funniest thing.
Now, I don't recommend getting a catdog like I had..lol. I used Clorox clean-ups on the tray and base, took the pad off 3xs a week and soaked it in the kitchen sink for 15 minutes then let it air dry over night.
I have a Chicco and I vacuum ours weekly with the brush attachment and have pulled the pads and straps out and tossed them in the washing machine on hand wash then set them on a drying rack to dry. I've also taken it completely apart and hosed it down, one time in the shower in the winter after my oldest son's 1st birthday cake adventure LOL.
