Cleaning Highchair!

Does anyone own the Graco Melbourne highchair? It says not to put the cover in the washing machine, but I can not get it clean. It looks very dirty and stained. I clean it everyday and when company comes over, I feel like they are looking at my sons "dirty" highchair. I would love to be able to throw it in the washing maching.
The highchair was bought at Target.

What can I do next?

I never pay attention to the 'do not put in washing machine' labels.

My son's travel system was Graco, and said the same thing. Well, I washed the covers of the carseat and stroller several times in the washing machine, on the regular cycle, and they came out just fine. I would hang them to dry. No unraveling, no fading, no shrinking, nothing.

Hope this helps.

I put mine in the wash but I have a front loader washer that tumbles rather than the kind with an agitator in the middle.

I just put in on the delicate cycle all alone in cold water and allowed it to air dry

I don't know what you wash it in, and remember whatever you wash anything in, it goes into your skin and you.........but try using your dish soap, not laundry detergent. I am with a wellness company that has awesome natural cleaners that won't hurt you, kids or pets, but if you want to try dish washing soap, it might work, put it in hot water, let it set in the suds for a bit......then hand wash it. Hang dry. Good luck.

Hi B.,
My suggestion is use a towel or some other kind of material u can throw in the laundry..That's what I would do, if I had no other opt.
Good luck, and keep in touch.

You can try soaking it in the sink with some dishsoap. Then hand scrub the spots. After it's clean, I would keep it covered up with an old sheet or towel. It's so weird that you wouldn't be able to easily clean something for a baby.

I imagine that washing it might wear it out a little, but probably won't ruin it. I wash all kinds of things that say not to wash, but I read the label first to see what it is made out of. If it is something that water won't damage, I usually wash on gentle and then hang it to air dry. Those seats get so nasty, I don't know how they can make one and not think a parent would wash it.

try it on delicate cycle on cold water so it doesn't shrink and preferably in one of those mesh bags to protect it from getting caught on the agitator.

I have a different model high chair, the Graco Harmony High Chair. It also says not to put the padding in the washer, but I do. I wash it on delecate and let it drip dry.

We have it and wash it on delicate all the time. I will never understand why anything related to a baby is made with special washing instructions! :)

I would first try hand washing with a small brush to get the stains out. If it doen't come up clean, then wash it on cold in the washing machine and let it air dry overnight. I always washed mine in the washing machine when I can't it clean. I use ALL laundry det. and this is safe for babies skin.
