Somehow I can't seem to find a solution for cleaning shower floor tiles. Products have either done nothing to really clean it or they've been too harsh. Anyone have any products they could suggest? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much. I tried that white vinegar/Dawn mixture and it worked like a charm!

I have a sort-of related question for you - when was the last time you sealed your shower floor tiles? If it's been a long time, that may be the issue. You will need something pretty strong and a lot of elbow grease to get them clean. Then, reseal them. Once they are sealed (which should be done annually), they will be easier to clean with mild products.

ETA: Oh, and alkaline cleaners to get it clean (not acidic) (as an example, bleach is alkaline, vinegear is acidic). And once it's sealed, neutral cleaners (Bona makes one, so do many other brands).

ETAA: I'm an enthusiastic user of vinegar as a cleaner, it's all I use in the kitchen. BUT - we just had our shower tiled, and the shower guy was most insistent that vinegar should never never be used on natural stone tile. Maybe it's ok on ceramic or porcelain tile, I don't know. But never on stone tile.

What are your floor tiles made of? I use BarKeepers Friend. It works on ceramic and cleaned my glass shower enclosure without scratching. If you check their website it will tell you what materials you can use it on. I just sprinkle it on a wet microfiber cloth and scrub away.

I clean the showers and tubs with Comet with bleach. I scrub them using a toilet brush that I purchases specifically for scrubbing the shower/tub areas. They are stiffer than other brushes and they hang in the stalls/tub area. That way each one is kept for that purpose.

i'm in the same boat. i do the dawn/vinegar spray-and-scrub with each shower, but the grout between the river stones on the floor is still getting grubbier and grubbier.
i think i need to hit it with bleach or something heinous like that, and then get the ol' man to reseal it.
