Cleaning Tile Showers

I am looking for a new way to clean the tile in my shower. It is a large shower with a lot of tile and a glass door. There is only a glass block decorative window in my bathroom area so there isn't a way to ventilate the room while cleaning. I'm sure someone out there must know of a great way to get my shower nice and clean without using very strong chemicals. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

I like the Mr. Clean majic eraser as well. We have the automatic shower spray and it does not work. We even looked it up on consumer reports and it got a horrible rating. Stick with the eraser. Its quick and works wonders. Also we have tried using a steamer. It works really well, just slow!

I used to claen houses and so did a friend of mine. We have found that using Scrubbing Bubbles spray and Soft Scrub with Bleach together clean a tile shower very well. Also, after you get it clean, you can use paste car wax ONLY ON THE WALLS, not on the bottom. This will repel the water and it will bead off, causing the shower to stay cleaner longer. Works like a charm.

Tilex soap scum remover works great and isn't over powering in scent. Also for the glass door to either keep the lime scale down or when it is built up, I like using Barkeeps friend. It is a powder like Comet but it is very find and no abrasive. Works great on stainless steel sinks too!!

You could try Simple Green...it has a slight odor, but it's non toxic..enough so that you could drink it! It's a great multi use cleaner, I use it for just about everything as it is safe for us and our animals. I would test it on a small space before using it just to be sure it won't discolor any grout. Good luck!

It's so weird that you asked that because I just tried a new cleaning product that I love. Clorox has a new line of cleaning products called "Green Works." It's supposed to be environmentally friendly, but I'm not a chemical engineer so I can't attest to that. However, I have found that this product works extremely well, and there is virtually no odor (leaves a very faint citrus smell). I bought the bathroom cleaner, the glass cleaner, and the all purpose cleaner.
My only complaint was that I was getting a slight residue on hard surfaces with the all-purpose cleaner, but if you dampen the cloth with water, you don't get the residue. And they
seem to be a little more concentrated, so you don't have to use as much.
And I have to agree with the other posters on the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I thought I was going to have to throw out my Capresso coffe maker because it was so dingy and not even bleach would clean it. I tried the magic eraser and now it
looks brand new!
Hope that helps, and good luck!

I have yet to try the eraser on my shower but I'm willing to, for sure!

Actually, scrubbing bubbles really cuts through a lot of the scum. I'm thinking seriously about getting the one that automatically sprays your bathtub/shower throughout the day to see if it's worth it.
