Hi Mom's!
I wanted to see if you wonderful mothers had any helpful cleaning tips. Anything special that you do to clean a counter top, floor, carpet, clothes etc. that might make things easier for the rest of us! My number one tip that I share with friends is to "buy a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!" It makes my life easier. :) What's your tip?

What can I do next?

I also use vinegar in a spray bottle. I use a homemade laundry detergent made of borax, washing soda and ivory soap (found the recipe on the internet) for most of my laundry. I use Tide on my husband's work clothes, nothing else gets the barn dirt and smell out. Odoban works wonders for smelly accidents. A terrific schedule for cleaning and just everyday life can be found on flylady.com. When I follow that, my life is so much easier.And...teach the kids young to do chores:)

I use vinegar in a spray bottle on pretty much anything that I want to sanitize :) Cheap, safe and it works.

My mom cleans houses. For mopping, she uses one of those swiffer type mops that is supposed to hold their refill sheets (where you fold it over the rectangle mop end and poke the corners in to stay on). Well, she doesn't bother buying the refills, she just sticks a rag on it just the same! Then you can mop & then throw it in the wash. As for a cleaner to use on the floor, she just told me to mix dish detergent (like Dawn) with water.

You can also get a scrubbie sponge to use on tough spots on the floor. Keep it on the floor while you mop & if you find a spot that needs a little extra work, just get the sponge under your foot and use your foot to scrub. No need to keep bending down to use your hands.

Hi C., I love Chlorox wipes. They are so handy, quick, and easy. I mainly use them in kitchen but they are also good in the bathroom. Another good bathroom product is that automatic shower cleaner (can't remember the brand). I don't have the shower cleaner, but my mother who has been professionally cleaning houses since I was a small child says it works on shower scum that she has spent weeks scrubbing with different products. When she came to visit me this summer was her first time using the Chlorox wipes & she fell in love in them. When I was in the military I would use the swifer duster to dust my room daily and passed every inspection of my first sergeant. These tips aren't the most cost efficient or green, but they work and are fast & handy!
