Hi mamas,

I am making my own wedding favors and it is turning out to be more stress than I thought. I bought votive holders at Hobby Lobby and planned on making my own labels but I am having problems with the labels. I bought clear Avery labels but realized they are the address labels and will not turn out right. I would like the labels to have our name at the top, maybe a design in the middle and our wedding date and the bottom but the labels I purchased are for addresses and it will not look right. Does anyone have any suggestions? TYIA!!

What can I do next?

Hello E.,

I don't know how difficult this would be, but could you somehow get a stencil made and then 'spray paint/paint' your info on to the candle holders? Good luck and Congratulations! ~C.~

How about tying a ribbon around the votive and attaching a card stock tag that has the design with your name and the date. You could just punch a hole in the card and attach it to the ribbon

When I got married, we also did our own candles. I got votive candle labels at Michael's (I think, it may have been another craft store) that you print yourself and put on the candle. It was a little tricky though, b/c the labels were too big for the candles I got, so we cut the labels to the right size. I added ribbon on the bottom for an extra touch, and they turned out nice. I don't remember the brand of the labels, though. Congratulations and have fun!!

I like the other suggestion too; if you want to keep the labels, I know Avery also have whole clear sheets. In one of my jobs we use to use it as lamination, anyway, you could create something in word, print it out to see if you like it, then when it's the way you want it, print it on the clear sheet. You'll have to do your own cutting...
Congrats on the Marriage, may God bless you all!

Hi E.,

I would recommend you go to www.sticviews.com. You can make custom sticks that are clear and any shape with what you would like for them to say. The minimum order is one.

At my sister's wedding we are having a separate reception for the children. We are going to be doing a craft with water bottles. So instead of ordering expensive custom printed bottles I plan to order the labels off the site and cover the bottles myself. Good Luck!
