First let me say that I love cloth diapering! I have bumgenius 3.0, thirsties AIO, and kushies Aio. I started with bg's and still recommend them to get started with cloth diapering but mine have really gotten worn--the Velcro messed up on some of mine right away. Plus I've had trouble with leaks at night. I'm looking to add prefolds and covers to my stash as these are most economical and I'm not intimidated by them anymore. I've never heard of sunbaby. I would recommend the bg's, kushies and prefolds and covers! Good luck!

I personally love my Happy Heiny's OS with snaps. These are favorites for me over the BG or Sunbaby. But I would check diaperpin.com they have reviews on almost every diaper out there. Also babycenter.com has a cloth diapering board that is very active and has tons of opinions pros and cons to all things CDing. It is addictive. Also Hyena Cart has tons of dipes on there and diaperswappers.com is also very informative. Good luck!

I agree with other that the cheapest and most effective way is prefolds, by far. They can be intimidating at first, but you will learn fast. I would get a couple pocket diapers for when you leave the baby with daddy, grandma, or a nursery, etc, since they are simple for the novice. I have used BG for years, and I like them, but like someone else said, the velcro will fail over time. I replaced all my velcro with snaps and made them works again. Yes, there is a new BG product coming out and BG 3.0's will be going out. I believe the announcement on what the new product is will be coming out soon. I have heard good things about the happy heinies one size. They also make a version with snaps, which I was happy about because a snap diaper will way outlast a velcro diaper. Good luck with your LO!

Have you checked out Gdiapers? That's what we use and I love, love them! I know they make tiny ones for newborns too.

I have no experience with Sunbaby, but I used Bum Genius when my son was slightly shorter, and really liked them.

I didn't care for the BG - and I haven't heard of Sunbaby either - if you are looking for cheap and effective - prefolds with covers is your BEST option - you can diaper your baby from birth to potty training for $200 - this requires you to do diaper laundry every 2 - 3 days, but it is totatlly doable.
This would include 3 dozen infant (8 - 15 pounds) prefolds and 4 covers in size one, and 3 dozen premium (15 - 30 pounds) prefolds and 4 covers in size two (from Thirsties).

I haven't hear of Sunbaby, but we use BG, and we just started using prefolds with Bumkins covers. Right now, Bumkins is redesigning their inventory, so I'm not sure you can get anything until August. I'm very happy with the quality of both, although my son is very skinny (3 y/o wearing 12 mo pants), and the BG's seem to be the best option for his size (we're still trying to get the prefolds to stay on!) Good luck!

I use bumgenius onesize 3.0s and I really like them. I haven't tried Sunbaby (actually never ard of them!). I heard that teh Onesize 3.0s are being discontinued (a new product is coming out) so you may get a good deal now. I get mine from www.momsmilkboutique.com and they have the best price I have found plus free shipping.
