I am a 36 G. I get my bras at Intimacy they are Prima Donna brand. I found a nice dress at Nordstrom that was stretchy fabric, but looked very nice. I added nice jewelry and it was perfect. Nordstrom also has nice bras.
Ok, so I am trying to find something nice to wear to a wedding, but the problem I am running into is getting something that fits over my large chest.
I am a 42 DD, so on a breast sizescale, perhaps not the largest, but with dresses it is quite impossible to zip the dresses that have a side zip / back zip.
Most of the pull over dresses are casual.
Am I looking in the wrong stores?
I've been to Macy's, JC Penney, Ann Taylor, Kohl's, Nordstrom (Kind of happy nothing fit there - those prices!!!!).
Size wise - I'm a 14.
Any ideas?
Also, where do you find nice bras to go with these nicer dresses?
Please help!!!!!!

They say to buy the dress to fit you in your "largest" area, and have it tailored to fit everywhere else.
First get fit for a really good bra. Can make a big difference in how clothes lay on your body.
You may have to see a tailor/ seamstress, and buy a size up but have it altered for a perfect fit.
Also, try an A-line or empire waist.
This is what I would do. Find a dress that fits your breasts. Lets say that the rest of the dress is too big for your body- get that tailored. It isn't that expensive, and you could use the dress for other special occasions in the future. I highly recommend that. It would compliment you and I bet you'd love a dress that fits YOU! (I've got DD's myself...)
I'm pretty sure that Victoria's Secret has that size for bras, but not sure...
Try chadwicks.com. Make sure the dress has straps wide enough to hide your bra. I am a size 4 with a 36DDD chest. You can find dresses that allow for the chest without having to have it tailored. I like an empire waistline, and I usually go dark or light (navy, black, white) so I don't have to try and find a colored bra to hide. Hope this helps!
Try a place with plus sizes. Get the top to fit nicely and have a tailor take in the other parts.
Try catherine's online at www.catherines.com
My mom used to get a size up and have it altered to fit properly all over ... is that an option?
Oh and Torrid is a good place to look, but their dresses tend to be trendy vs classic so it's your taste.
I'm a "DD Sister" and about your clothing size.
I would stay away from the empire waist, but do agree that a tailor is your best friend.
A wrap dress is more forgiving in the bust and is a classic look.
Get something (even if it's a 14W or 16W) that fits on top & have it altered everywhere else....won't be that difficult with a dress--side seams and hemming--maybe shoulders too.
As for a bra--go get a professional fit. The Avenue will have your size.
Good luck!
I agree with S M. A good bra makes a difference in how your clothes fit you. A good bra is one that "sits the girls up" so they are not sagging. Sears and JC Penny sell the Exquisite Form bras. They are really good bras.
As for something to wear...if you have a Catos in your location, that's a good place to find clothes. The clothes are stylish and they carry every size. Also try dresses that come with a cardigan.
Go try and see a Deb near you. They have formal, casual, and semi-casual dresses there, have lots of sales. I believe the plus are designed to fit large chested people... My friend is a DD and she wears clothes from Deb. I love their prices.
I also agree with a taylor after if you find a dress that fits in the chest but is loose in your stomach or waist.
I agree with Suz, go get a hot skirt and then a blouse at Lane Bryant or something.
Torrid is great for young moms, not sure of your age.. They have beautiful dresses in stock that will fit you.
